I understand that it will take time to get them implemented into the game. So the issue you bring up is they can't afford to loose their player base. Well I don't see anyone paying anything at the moment. At least they would get some money for those of us willing to pay; and I don't think it's as small as you think. Would I loose sleep that your so called majority aren't on the game anymore? No, because almost my entire ls would pay to play and we're realistic to know it's going to take time. ~ I have a dream, that players on the forums who actually have new, constructive input be heard. ~
It's not a "so called" majority, it is a majority, period. The fact that you and your LS friends love the game doesn't mean it's not true. I mean come on, just take a look around next time you're on. There's what? maybe 700 people per server at the moment. I was on FFXI in April and there were more people than that in Jeuno alone. The server itself had about 2500 people on. If that doesn't tell you FFXIV isn't good right now then I don't know what does. So it wouldn't be right to charge us for it at the moment.

Also, I say some people are putting words in other people's mouths and what do you do? the exact same thing with my post. I'm not saying SE would lose their player base if they started charging us now, I'm saying it would be wrong to make us pay for a game that doesn't deliver yet. It's not about the player base, the player base will pay anyway. They don't care about that, they want to expand and they're obviously not happy with the game or the amount of people on at the moment. Keeping that in mind, add the fact that a crapload of people stopped playing but still look at the game from a distance. If they make people pay to play now, it will be the last straw for a lot of those people. You can't fuck people once, fuck them again and expect them to come back when you hand over candy bars a year later.

Now keep in mind that the OP asked if we would decide to pay if they gave us a choice. Pay to help them get back on their feet, or keep playing for free. Now it ain't like they're broke and need your contribution to move on, but if you and your friends wanna pay for some obscure reason, that's not my problem.

I think SE is aware of the issues surrounding game play as they have addressed many of them. I don't think saying I will pay to play the game is saying "Ok the game is done now; we're fine here". I am saying that I am willing to pay because I am impressed with what SE has planned at the moment and I feel the game will only get better as the years progress. I think I only touched on one issue that you made and that was "Can SE afford to loose the majority of their players". I feel that I'd rather the players not happy with the game take a break and let those of us who are realistic enough to wait it through pay. I happen to like their company and the directions it is taking.

What purpose does saying the same thing a million ways accomplish if SE has already addressed it? My feeling is that some players think that may oooohhh SE we'll never pay for your game if you don't do what I want is unrealistic. Especially, if they have already addressed the problem and given us a plan of implementation. I'm pretty sure SE knows that as they put the changes players have requested in place the game will grow.

You're not realistic at all here.
First of all, they haven't fixed all that much yet, and that's fine really. If you've read some of my other posts on this forum you'll realize I'm behind Yoshida and his team. The things we have seen this far are part of a plan that will be finished at some point, I'm not arguing with you on that. And I will be more than happy to pay to play FFXIV when the things that are in this plan are put into the game. But not now, because most people still don't like the game enough to pay for it every month.

I mean seriously all you're saying is that because promises were made it's alright for them to go ahead and make us pay now. Fuck no! If people start thinking like you, companies will just release games in alpha state, make players pay a monthly fee for it and say: "Hey, in 2 years the game's gonna be awesome guys!". Please, be real.

What is the timeline you are giving them?
