It takes a week, two at most, to gear in full darklight + GC level50 weapon. This game doesn't need to be beatable in a weekend like every other MMO out there. We need actual meaty content that lasts for 3-4 months between content updates or this game will fail.
This game has more stuff to do at release than any MMO I've played at release except for GW2, but anet didn't really add much content in patches to the game so it got boring fast. This game has PLENTY to do, and I'm 0% bored of the grind and I'm in 95% darklight gear now.
It needs to be grindy, there aren't many 50 dungeons but there's plenty to actually keep you occupied, it's good design. Games like Rift/SWTOR/WOW where you beat them in a month/weekend aren't very good for keeping subs or making money.

If you weren't able to speed run in the beginning you wouldn't be complaining. The problem is people have tasted to forbidden fruit. Because they were able to speed run to their 80 Phils, and 30 myths (or whatever) now that is how they assume it SHOULD be done.
Truth is the tomes ARE your reward for doing those dungeons, as well as the coffers, monster parts, etc.
And no, just because you "might' subscribe, does not give you the right to complain. You do your complaining with your dollars, not your mouth. It's people like you guys that expect what you want, when you want it, that ruin things for the rest of us that are happy to have SE (or whoever) make the game they want to make, and not the game YOU demand of them.
2.1 is coming, 2.2 soon after that. You rushing to endgame and blowing up all the content is your problem sir.
Except it doesn't have meaty content. It has a little content that we must continue to farm if we want to see any more of the little content.
Add a chance for tomes to drop from the coffers spread around dungeons at endgame, similar to the allagan pieces (please also let these go beyond bronze for the love of god).
Problem solved.
Or put dark light direct drops in them too or new dungeons...that drop DL, something
It has crafting, leveling alt classes, and a a few end game dungeons plus one raid. Every game has that and some other games launch with pvp, this decided not to. Leveling alts is a bit broken since despite giving you many ways to do it, they balanced it in a way that no one will want to do anything but fates. I'm not seeing the plethora of content. It will take you a while to do it all, but that isn't the same as having a lot to do or it being designed in a way that's particularly engaging.

I'm not a fanboy. What I'm seeing however is people that are getting so upset over something that isn't going to satisfy them no matter how hard they try.
The people complaining about "lack of content, blah blah blah" are the ones that as soon as they are tired of whatever they are doing they are the first ones here to complain that things aren't up to their standards.
The point I'm trying to make is that 2.0 obviously didn't change your mind about FF ARR. So leave. OR!!! Go and make a constructive post in the suggestions forums about things you like to see in the game and quit your bitching. This crybaby crap has it's place and it's on the Blizzard forums.
Servers back up. Gilgamesh at least
Sorry for actually giving a shit about the genre and wanting to see it finally progress past it being expected for a game to be launched broken, launch with little but grindy content and follow the same old, same old formula all mmo's use. It's getting stale and is pretty much the COD genre of RPG's. Had this game been able to launch months later with pvp, the golden saucer, housing, a bunch of mini games, more jobs for each class, more dungeons/raids, got proper server testing we may have a different story on our hands. So yeah, they have some good stuff coming. But you have to keep people around first. But I guess I should go back to WoW. Even though I've barely played it.
