Changes will constantly be made, that's just how it is. So you're telling me that if someone found a fast way to clear binding coil, and by the time I got there it was fixed and now took longer, I have every right to be upset?

If that's the case, that gives SE absolutely no room to make changes to anything. Keep all the unintended stuff in the game, let people exploit. If it's not right the very first time, too bad.

I disagree with this. I expect to see some of you on these forums every single time a change is made in this manner now, which is silly.

I think it might be fair to say that the issue was brought to light fairly quickly, and yet it wasn't addressed in a timely manner... it wasn't until a fairly segmented group got to end game that this "fix" came out... which disproportionately affected the casual gamer.

This entire thread is encompassing the major problem with the games community right now, there is a huge rift between the haves and have nots. The wait time for have nots went up triple or quadruple fold to become a have and it seems the elitism has also tripled or quadrupled. This is going to ruin the long term future of the game if something isn't done.

Nobody is asking for fee gear, just would be nice to be able to obtain it at the same rate as everyone who already obtained it.

Using the duty finder for ak speed runs was no guarantee either, several failed runs in there, it still required work, now it just takes a ton more time and the same amount of failed runs. Before you say it, yes it would be awesome to join an fc that can clear it in a moderately fast time, but i cannot get accepted into any group since i dont have my darklight gear already.

As much as I hate to say this, it is life. Some one always has an advantage, there's always someone better, stronger, and faster. And while this is a game and shouldn't compare it to real life, it is still relevant, because at the end of the day, you get up from the game and will have to deal with some one/thing who has more than you do. Early birds get the worm. If life was fair, we wouldn't exist.

They have alreadt stated that al the lower dungeons are getting worked on to increase size, difficulty, and rewards for level 50. This is most likely the reason why there are blocked off paths in dungeons. Tam Tara being a good example. In the beta phases(forgot which) TT had a mid boss Durandal(probably placeholder?). The path to him was blocked in later phases. The problem with the dungeons is the drops/loot. This is one of the very few things I miss about WoW. The weapon drops sucked half the time, but having a steady progression of one weapon every so many levels is kind of boring to me.

Except the OP's complaint is that everyone who has already done the speed running has left s/he left to fend for themselves.

One more thing for edit. You are right, we aren't playing life simulator. But the reality is when you get out of your chair, life didn't suddenly pause for you.

I could care less if these speed runs were fixed or not, but this thread sounds more like this......"Boohoo, they fixed the exploit before I got to fully abuse it." more than anything.

I have never sped run AK, queue pops are less than a minute every time. Runs are 30 minutes each. This was right after the main story, so I wasn't geared. Runs are faster now.

Complaining about content takes too long and you should be able to exploit the runs is just another excuse. I see people in full dark light and they are still stuck on Garuda and can't seem to do AK in less than 30 minutes. No amount of gear is gonna help you. You might as well take the time to learn how to play.

If they start doing gear hand-outs without properly letting players learn how to play, you get what you have now. People raging all the time on Garuda and saying Titan is impossible. Some players learn faster than others, while some absolutely need the take the full amount of time they need farming to learn. If you're complaining about farming Darklight in order to progress, then you are not one of those people who learn fast, no matter how good you think you are and others are just dragging you down.

There's more crying in this thread than from my 2-day-old newborn son.

Certainly, there were more graceful options to address speed runs of AK, but it's not surprising that changes were made.

As for whining about "early adopters" getting a leg up... everything goes in cycles. Give it a couple patches and there'll more than likely be welfare epics that shame any drops people who spammed AK speed runs might've gotten a couple weeks sooner or with less time invested. At that point, the "early adopters" will complain and the same people who are mad now will rub their faces in it.

I'm actually happy that there's more incentive to organize FC groups and actually try to progress to and through Coil of Bahamut rather than just speed run a single dungeon to cap out everything but weapon in a couple months. A mix of content to get enough tomes, ilvl 60+ gear, ilvl60+ weapons and relics to start on turn 1 of the Coil benefits groups more than just cheesing a single dungeon over and over. Sucks for PUGs, but I think it's BS to act like you deserve absolute BiS gear if you're not going to participate in progression. My sympathy is drastically limited, and that statement is tempered with having just lost any ability to raid regularly.
