There's more crying in this thread than from my 2-day-old newborn son.

Certainly, there were more graceful options to address speed runs of AK, but it's not surprising that changes were made.

As for whining about "early adopters" getting a leg up... everything goes in cycles. Give it a couple patches and there'll more than likely be welfare epics that shame any drops people who spammed AK speed runs might've gotten a couple weeks sooner or with less time invested. At that point, the "early adopters" will complain and the same people who are mad now will rub their faces in it.

I'm actually happy that there's more incentive to organize FC groups and actually try to progress to and through Coil of Bahamut rather than just speed run a single dungeon to cap out everything but weapon in a couple months. A mix of content to get enough tomes, ilvl 60+ gear, ilvl60+ weapons and relics to start on turn 1 of the Coil benefits groups more than just cheesing a single dungeon over and over. Sucks for PUGs, but I think it's BS to act like you deserve absolute BiS gear if you're not going to participate in progression. My sympathy is drastically limited, and that statement is tempered with having just lost any ability to raid regularly.

You can still speed run Castrum Meridianum in 35 minutes, do that instead.

I don't feel like reading through all of these pages of tears, but from what I've gathered up to page 5: "How dare you fix a clear exploit before I had a chance to take advantage of it!"

I mean seriously? Are we really going to cry because they were quick to patch something that wasn't intended instead of letting it get further out of hand (which would have probably caused more whining)? Instead of complaining that they fixed something that was broken we could calmly and constructively explain to SE that the main problem is a severe lack of options for obtaining mythology tomes so that this doesn't happen in the future.

Explain to me how SE is supposed to look and accurately see who "exploited"? This wasn't something isolated among a few individuals, this was happening on a large scale. Unless you're suggesting that they roll back every character with full/nearly full Darklight? Besides, this barely qualified as an exploit. People still had to clear the bosses like normal, they were only skipping the pointless trash.

The "point" of this thread is plain whining. People did something SE didn't intend. SE fixed it. Being bitter because 1) you didn't get a piece of the pie and 2) SE wont take the pie from the people who already have it is just ridiculous.

For the record I have never done a speed run and I thought them to be a little silly, but I have no qualms about "missing" it. I'll suck it up and do it the intended way.

whenever you mention the words "cry" or "tears" your post automatically becomes worthless.

But yeah, people didn't think they'd have to run boring content a bunch of times to get to challenging content. Is that difficult to understand?

Imagine all the 1.0 players who had to actually work for their darklight seeing hundreds of fresh 50s clad in it. Sometimes I can barely believe the hubris some new 50s display just because they got their darklight in 2 seconds and believe they're the most pro people around. Give these guys a quick look up though and the only other class they touched is the one they needed to unlock their job at 15. Maybe it's just me but that ain't quite right.

Those people who "suck it up" are either used to being bullied or used to being in the bottom of the food chain.

To be honest, it is really unfair that just because people gets to 50 faster than others, they have the benefit of doing speed runs and completing the gears and now that they have the full set, se suddenly nerfed it so those late bloomers cant catch up.

It only makes queueing harder and the discrepancy of gears only gave birth to discrimination wherein those with gears only prefers to run with their similar geared friends.

The new level 50s are now stuck because they cant do AK anymore (people who runs ak requires people to have a full set)
