so something they said they fixed actually broke it/if not made it worse. As for the gear yes in endgame the primal hard fights require you to have mainly darklight or AF+ because regular AF does not give the stats you need to deal with said bosses. and it takes long to get the tomes for AF+ since atm i believe Castrum and AK give them to you and its only 40 per run af+ pieces if memory serves costs 300-1300 tomes each depending on which piece it is such as body, pants, so on. And the mobs in the 50 dungeons do not drop anything which is why ppl mainly do speed running which with this patch they basically removed.

I can confirm, my Durability is not dropping any faster than previously, Doing the same fates for soulbinding gave the same approx durability.

If you are that paranoid, wear gear you are soulbinding for trash.
