The real problem, is that Damage Dealers aren't moving out of the freaking way of AoEs. I haven't fought Odin or Bahamut yet so I don't know how their's work really, but if it's anything like my experiences with the "Go Go Garwhateveritsnameis" in Thanalan, then we have a problem. We're White Mages, we don't have MP for days like BLMs do. If you know you can't move out of the way in time, then use whatever ability you can that circumvents the damage! Twelve, help us....

You don't get credit for healing unless you're in a party.
Then you are not doing your job healing properly heal people when they take damage. I do not group up for the record and i get gold I can ss for you if you need proof ..I have player health bars to show up only when they are less the 100 percent with mouse over macro's you should be getting gold no problem ...

Also FIY for the people who don't seem to know this option:
Character configuration, somewhere in the tabs to the right (not in game atm, please if anyone is give more detailed explanation) -> you can customize how much battle effects you see. Just put it to none and there you have it.
I didn't lag much and had good view of what's happening, even while streaming it. You can check the video in my twitch in the signature.

What you read is probably based on a slight misunderstanding, which is helpful but still technically incorrect. You will only begin to pull aggro if you are actually healing HP deficits and not overhealing, so heals that heal damage will also pull aggro. So you could gauge how much effective healing you are actually doing by whether you are gaining any aggro, though this will be a difficult gauge in a massive fight where there is an absurd amount of dds and tanks present.

    Edit:
I can also imagine that healing in fates where lots of people and lag are present can be difficult as it is the healer equivalent of dps running out of pbaoe--it sure looks like your heal made it in time, but the server probably saw another healer get there first.

These evil people know this, so they try to discourage you to "do nothing" by saying "deal with it," or "be a man." The more you know.

Overhealing gives you the same amount of enmity as healing actual hp deficits.

Have you even seen Odin's range? If you're close to him at the time he starts casting that it's not possible to run away from it.

P.S.: once again... it's all on my video - last one, at the end.

With Holy I don't have an issue with Fates anymore. Before, I would often get bronze or silver instead of gold, even with healing the entire Fates. Not overhealing, either, though I'm sure that occasionally happened to. Of course, there were other healers too, it's possible someone else's heal got their first. :P I don't mind that so much...especially now with Holy, I can freely make sure to do enough damage to get gold, then sit back and heal the rest of the Fate. :P

Either way, I find it almost impossible during the Behemoth fight. xD Simply because you don't get credit for raising. I only did it once, but during that time healers were almost exclusively raising people and throwing in a few heals. I got absolutely no credit in the Fate, even after healing several people and raising a whole load more. I did no damage during the fight, though, if that's supposed to make a difference. I also didn't join a Fate group. I think healers should get credit for raising. xD

There are even a few Fates where none or very minimal healing is even required, and in those Fates it was always hard to hit a single mob with anything other than aero. Again, this was fixed with Holy and the fact that there are less Fates like that in the higher levels, but still, leveling up that can be a pain. :P

A Fate like Odin - or the two I participated in, it's very, very hard to see a dead body. In this instance, Behemoth was easier. It's also very hard to see and actually target someone with low health. The only way I see it happening is in a group. Which is why I plan to wait until my FC decides they want to go out and kill him together. :P Then I can be in a group and actually target people.

Maybe they should make it so that those FATES aren't laggy shitfests that have a 3 second delay on weaponskills.

Maybe they should just be instanced battles.

This guy gets it. I spam Shout/Linkshell/Company saying WHM looking for odin group for whatever reason, groups are full, the hour is late I don't get a reply...I'm fine with that. YET, if the group some DPS is on has no healer because they want to maximize their dps in group or their healer sucks/doesn't rez...why am I going to take time out of my already pitiful DPS solo to rez entire parties of people who chose not to add me to their group while I was shouting? I'm not mad about not being added, so those people shouldn't be mad about not getting random heals/rezs from strangers. After fight I'll rez some people but sorry for folks who don't get one during....

I think this is not only FATE's issue but general gaming attitude issue. Normally whenever I'm on whm/acn on FATE I feel like I'm the only stupid that stays to raise everyone at the end when everyone else just buggers off to the next FATE. But then when I need a raise, I have to homepoint. Same happens when I'm travelling around and I see someone dying close to me. I have no problem at all going off my choco and toss a raise. I don't think it's even because it's my duty as job, cause I change to a job that can raise if I'm on botanist or so. I't more like lending a hand when needed if you can. I know how it can piss off when you die on your leve and loose the allowance cause you have to homepoint.
Also on instances like class quests, if I see someone dead, I raise, period. But then if I pop out dead, even if I ask for it, there's like 6 people standing there and moving, and no one raises me, so I have to homepoint again.
So yeah, it's the general attitude of not giving a f*** and minding their own business, ironic in an online game if you ask me.
