We don't agree on this. You are ok with a cash shop in a p2p game. Myself and many others are very much against it. Fantasia should stay what it is - a gift.
what's wrong with it costing money? it's not like it is is game-breaking >.>
i'm fine with how my character looks, until they decide to add classes like dancer again, at which point i shall switch to a female instantly lol >.<
I don't see what the big deal would be if someone decides they'd fork over the cash to pay for something entirely cosmetic, IE it doesn't change or affect your game play experience WHAT so ever so why should some of you care what someone wants to do with their character or not.
Its their money, not yours, its their character, NOT yours. Its also UNIQUE-UNTRADEABLE its not like people can turn around and SELL them. This is LITERALLY no different than someone paying for a server transfer, its a SERVICE. If you don't want it, DON'T BUY IT, no one is forcing you to.
You're assuming too much mate, I said selling Fantasia for real money is perfectly fine... but OBVIOUSLY making it free would benefit everyone... Just because paying real money doesn't bother me, doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer the free approach.
You people don't seem to get it. We have no problem with people wanting to change their appearance. We just don't want to open the evil pandora's box of Cash Shops.
Make it an item you can buy with 50,000 Seals or simlarly large number and put a long cooldown on it.
Yup, that's essentially what I'm saying. Because as soon as they open the door to buying cosmetic items with real money, it spirals out of control. Next it will be mounts, then special clothing items, then XP boosts, etc. No. Cash. Shop. In. P2P. Game.So you're saying people who can commit to grind a large sum of seals should be awarded the chance of buying a remodel versus someone, who can't play nearly as much but pays the SAME monthly fee & supports the game just as much as everyone else, should spend less time enjoying the actual game and commit MORE time grinding to fix something that is entirely cosmetic?
50k seals really isn't that hard to get, but if that's your issue, then just make it 10k like the Attribute Reset item and put long cooldown between 1-6 months on it.

I don't see why we can't have both.
As long as they don't sell cash shop elusive gear/collectables, pay to win items, and hyper obnoxious Maple Story tier gear and items, who cares? Character redesigns and server transfers shouldn't be out of the question.
A lot of the nay saying seems to be based on the paranoia that Square will go to the extreme with it, and that's just black and white logic.
I do agree that purchase with in game currency is a better idea though.
Updated my original post to reflect how I feel about this discussion. All in all I'm quite happy with the responses and player feedback, here's hoping Square-Enix takes this into consideration.
