So I did a Castrum run the other day to help out a friend and get 100 tomes.
We que in, wait for 45 minutes, get a group and go.

As soon as we enter the instance, one of the DPS says "I'm gonna afk now, have fun getting me 100 tomes!"

and then never moved the entire run.

Thankfully we managed to seven-man the dungeon without him, because most of the party didn't want to re-que or were nice enough to stay. A few of us reported him as we saw it as a form of harassment, but we still had to run the whole dungeon down one member.

The duty finder needs some sort of kick member option. Perhaps make it so the party can vote to remove a player.

DF currently has many problems and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Most importantly it needs to have a gear check and make sure the people queueing up for content can actually do it. so common to see 50's with lvl20 jewels.

Gear check would be nice also.

For example you should be required to have 5 pieces of ilvl 55 before going to AK and Garuda, 5 piece of ilvl 60 for titan, 5 pieces of ilvl 70 for CoB

There is a quest in The Bannocks that did this (at lvl 5/10), there should be similar ones before getting the quests for those fights/dungeons.

I'm against any kind of gear check in principle, gear is secondary to skill. AK can easily be done in fresh level 50 gear.

Yea I am aware that it can be done by skill, but we need something in place to keep the idiots in check, it might sound harsh but I think players should put effort into gearing up their character otherwise it only means the rest of the party have to pick up the slack, especially if that person sucks at skill as well as gear.

Harsh gearcheck for endgame DF is very bad idea. It shouldnt exceed the AF gear, ilvl 45 weapon and ilvl 40 accessories.
If u want gearchecked party use /shout.

Gear check should be on the quests not the duty finder, as you are required to do the quest prior to accessing the dungeon it would make perfect sense.

You can still end up with under geared players even when you shout for a party.

While I agree with this to some extent, I find that the players with under leveled gear are usually just new players who're still learning, and are capable of being taught if you're not rude.

I never mind if a player is new. I won't carry them, but I'm happy to teach them and pick up some slack in a dungeon run if they're trying and actively taking friendly suggestions (as opposed to the rude bullying DF tends to lean toward.)

That said, I would still like some minimum gear requirements so I can que up for things like Garuda and know I'll have a party that at least is appropriately geared.

All of this aside, not my main issue. I'm more concerned with players who are downright toxic to everyone else's gaming experience.

Something like that yes, at the moment people are wasting their time trying to queue up for hard instances or bosses just to renter the queue.

The whole point aside from being rude and exploiting DF like that AFK smartass u mentioned, some endgame content is impossible to do unless u are properly equiped. For example Ifrit HM is a lvl 50 boss that is relatively easy and can be done with one or
the other way. Garuda or Titan? No frickin way thats happening from undergeared people. The DF treats both of those encounters as being the same Ifrit/Garuda/Titan while the difference could be like 5-10 levels in gear.

I've experienced this as well, this morning in fact! I tried to squeeze in a CM run before work. One of the tanks didn't even exit the first cut scene or say anything. We were able to finish the run and kudos to the tank and all of the people I ran with. But once this boot feature is introduced, I will remember you ______ ____.
