Why do people still AFK at Aetherytes?

No, I just find it really odd people are still doing it. I mean, we have no way to sell items on our personal Bazaar like in 1.0/FFXI as we have Retainers.

It's really just a matter of convenience for most. If I gotta go afk to walk dog, make food for the kid, or run to 7-11 it's just less hassle then logging out and in every time. I'm sure others feel the same for going to sleep or taking naps. It's just personal preference really.

Just let them keep doing it while they can. The afk kick timer should be in sometime this week.

I better not get a response saying, "because they can." :P Really, why do people still stay AFK at Aetherytes and such when SE fixed the errors (somewhat; I still got 90k'd yesterday) and server problems. It still doesn't make any sense why people would stay logged onto the game to accumulate the Rested EXP bonus (IF that's what they are trying to do). I at least go to one of the Crystals and log off when I'm done playing. I think people need to be informed of the Rested EXP bonuses... And it is certainly NOT a problem with logging onto the game anymore.

What does it matter to you? It's no longer affecting you so what other people do should not concern you.

Actually it does still affect others. Especially on the half dozen servers that haven't seen character creation open up at all since the maintenance last week. People going AFK in low level areas are partially responsible for the character creation locks.

Lol fixed the problems? 1017 is still there, it never went away.

They raised the worlds caps. I have not had a single 1017 since the maintenance. Your server is probably more popular.

so you're saying people can still afk in higher level areas? lol. anyway, I wouldn't blame current server locks for people afking. I am sure there are far less people doing it now after last weeks maintenance. SE just needs to unlock them like they have on some other servers.

The good thing is, once the first free month is over and the less dedicated leave it'll be more peaceful. I must admit, the world already feels kind of small and it's too many people running around, too.
I don't really get that 'Black Shroud" vibe with like 10 carbies along with flashy animations on the screen at once. lol

Also, The Waking Sands should be instanced. lol Seriously, that place is even more crowded than the London metro on a Monday morning.
