Why do people still AFK at Aetherytes?

I've been going afk next to aetherites a lot today. I had company coming tonight and wanted to l get some cleaning done in between playing so I'd play here and there and clean here and there, throughout the day. It's just more convenient and I'm taking advantage of it while I can, I guess. My server hasn't had any login issues since the maintenance from what I've seen.

I dont AFK at the Aether, I do it in my room. Much easier to blacklist gil sellers who whisper me, when I tab back in.

A lot of time people are waiting for Fates to pop.

Like in south shroud, Quarrymill is FULL of people that sit there at the aetheryte waiting for a Fate to pop up.
