Why do people still AFK at Aetherytes?

I better not get a response saying, "because they can." :P Really, why do people still stay AFK at Aetherytes and such when SE fixed the errors (somewhat; I still got 90k'd yesterday) and server problems. It still doesn't make any sense why people would stay logged onto the game to accumulate the Rested EXP bonus (IF that's what they are trying to do). I at least go to one of the Crystals and log off when I'm done playing. I think people need to be informed of the Rested EXP bonuses... And it is certainly NOT a problem with logging onto the game anymore.

Just because someone is standing there not moving, they're not necessarily AFK in a literal sense. I do that a lot when I'm chatting with people, or just waiting for Duty Finder, or organizing my inventory, or... any number of things. I pretty much only log out when I'm going to be actually physically AFK, and sometimes not even then, now that it's not hurting anyone.

You get the rested xp bonus just for standing next to the crystal or in an inn room, it has nothing to do with whether or not you log out. Aion had a system where you gained rested xp faster if you actually logged out, but this game doesn't have that.

Oh, so you DO get rested in-game. I thought I was imagining things when I magically had a bit of rested xp after alt-tabbing for awhile.

No, I just find it really odd people are still doing it. I mean, we have no way to sell items on our personal Bazaar like in 1.0/FFXI as we have Retainers.
