Ryios, you're missing the point. No one will be able to buy those rare items because they will have spent all their gil by the time that item is available to purchase. I was at 190k at L50, I'm now at 154k and I have died maybe 1 time. There's no good way of replenishing.

Quests are onetime only, meaning that once you hit 50 and have no quests left, you wont be making any money that way. Player trading does not create fresh gil, it drains gil from the overall economy. Noone will be able to buy crafted goods when all their money is spent on repairs.

Ahhh maybe as a bonus for clearing a certain % of mobs in a dungeon you get a % of your gear's durability repaired? That way you don't go into the red for repairs but you don't earn so much money that you offset the crafting economy all while making trash mobs useful and giving people more freedom to choose between doing speed runs at the expense of repairs.

    Patch 2.1

Good King Moogle Mog will returning as a boss fight. More than likely he will be accessible through the duty finder. Please look forward to it.

A new difficulty for Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan fights will be added in this patch as well. They haven’t quite decided if they’ll call them hard, super, ultra, extreme, or any other awesome intense name. I can see it now. “Ifrit, for real this time”.

Also new Hildibrand quests and FATEs are being added. If you didn’t know, Hildibrand was a comic relief NPC from version 1.0. He has his own… unique sense of humor.

The Wolves Den, a 4v4 and 8v8 arena will be opening in this patch. You can travel to it by boat from Lower La Noscea, and to enter the arena you must use the Duty Finder.

And lastly, Mists, the La Noscea player housing region will be unlocked in 2.1. Houses are available to Free Companies and individual players for a monetary value.
I'm really concerned for the fact that I don't see Daily repeatable quests on this list. Are they going to fix the economy or just let it rot and die off? I would seriously like to hear back from them about this big issue as there is 50+ pages of discussion here on the matter and not a single post from them explaining how they're going to fix this issue.

Maybe gathering is the daily activity? How much can you sell the end level stacks for?

A full stack gives you 300-400 gil from the NPC. And you still incur repair costs while gathering.

    Unbelievable.

I generally am not a big fan of dailies, but I think they would be the easiest way to create gil. Possibly as well need to decrease the scaling on repair cost the higher level the gear gets.

With current gil sinks already in place beside repair cost such as gyshal greens and housing it will be hard to leveling and sustain multiple class/jobs, if not only one, in game.

Buying from gilsellers will make the condition worse. In fact I believe its the worst of all gil sinkers.

A few assumptions starts here, for efficient sake I believe gil sellers
bots - as oppose to real life person playing for cost efficient
farm materials - as oppose to doing quests for gils because its easier to bot
sell materials on boards - as oppose to NPCing

Now we also assume they get shut down by the STF at some point, which permanently remove the gils from the economy in very large chunks.

Hence gil sellers are gil sinkers. I don't think it will necessarily promote more people to buy from gil sellers though.

On allagan/ah, the usual error of micro economics vs macro economics, as others have noted. Quest allagan ends at 50; selling to players vs vendoring destroys gill. Grabbing a bigger piece of a shrinking pie still means the pie shrinks and the economy crashes.

On content yet to be released, a most excellent point. This is what this whole thread is about, trying to encourage SE to do something about a game economy doomed to fail unless something is done. A FC-mate has already hit the wall at 36. She gears up entirely from dungeon runs (her main love in the game), so she's taking the allagan from quests, not armour pieces but still can't fund her repairs.

Sorry for [snips]. The post-length restrictions are really annoyin
