That's how SE went with it in FFXIV ARR. At this point, deal with it. Either learn to play the class or play a different class until SE decides to change the whole class mechanic, which they won't. The only thing they can do to quick fix is change current summoner job name to elementalist or something. Then create a new separate SMN class.
