Its imminent that Shiyo has nothing else to complain about. >_>

And yet another whiny and worthless thread started by Shiyo. Well done.
I think its kind of lame how all these quests show where to go next in your quest log under the map button ... its kind of like having a guide with all the answers isn't it?
Its kinda like having your browser open and looking up all the quest info... OH WAIT A MINUTE.
Also, people want to get straight to the action, not necessarily the fighting, but they don't want to have to struggle just to find a place that was right in front of them the whole time. Who cares about the quest markers? just pretend they don't exist.
Its just as stupid as "go find this person, they go by the name of X, they are located at Y"
Well, where the F is Y?
My question is, why are you using the map function in the quest log if you like finding the stuff on your own? Just like a guide you don't have to use it ever.
As far as the icons go, it doesn't add or detract any challenge from the content. Personally something that is challenging and engaging would be so even if they told me what direction to go in. The task itself should be the meat of the quest, not finding where to go.
Exactly, maybe something like "Go find this item, they drop off of this mob, you can talk to this person for clues on where to find these mobs."My question is, why are you using the map function in the quest log if you like finding the stuff on your own? Just like a guide you don't have to use it ever.

That wouldn't be so hard in terms of direction, but would also have required you to explore Eorzea just a bit, enough to where you'd recognize the area the NPCs are talking about.
It really isn't. Its more like taking an exam with the answer written right after the question.
I'm not going to gimp myself in order to make the game more challenging. I will make use of all the tools that they provide me with.My question is, why are you using the map function in the quest log if you like finding the stuff on your own? Just like a guide you don't have to use it ever.

Not using the map function is like suggesting I use a low level weapon to make fights more challenging instead of keeping my gear up to date. Or covering my HP bar with a piece of paper so I have to guess how much health I have left.
There's a good example that disproves this.
There's a quest in gridania in which a follower of a god asks you to find certain NPCs and hear their sins. He gives you clues as to where to find them.
Then you click the map button and it tells you exactly where they are.
Reducing what could have been a rewarding quest into go run to that place I'm pointing out and come back.
Don't take is so personally. Something this minor really isn't something to wory about.
