Hell i did Wanderer's Palace yesterday and we had series issues. The flan boss kept kicking our butts and we could not get King Tonberry down. Some of it was healing, some of it was dps, and some was the tank just dropping to fast for me to heal. But everyone was cool, kept joking around and in general had a good attitude even though it was a very frustrating run.

Some people are just new to the game and haven't mastered the technique to excel in party situation yet. I wouldn't get mad if my party fail if we discuss and try to improve together. Shit happens, failing just once or twice (when party members are cooperating and are nice) isn't the excuse to rage quit. I think that tank (in original post) was poor-mannered. At least say something, show some decency, be polite and don't just ditch people mid-dungeon. I, too wish there were Blacklist for Duty Finder.

Yeah a lot of tanks have a self-indulgent attitude – on behalf of these epix tanks I apologise  but seriously for a party to work each member needs to perform their role. I play a tank and for me the three most important things are –
    1) I know what I should be doing.
    2) My party knows what they should be doing.
    3) Make the healers job as easy = good tanking.

Tanking in itself is not hard in this game, but as has been mentioned the rest of the party needs to understand how to manage threat as well. My favorites are the AoE spammers that think they should pull for you, then bitch they died.

As a tank, I generally take a leadership role. I take it as my responsibility know and to make sure everyone else understands the mechanics of every fight, and to communicate effectively and clearly to ensure a smooth dungeon run. I can seem a little bossy, I guess, but I'm really trying to be as helpful as I can. I have only ever left one instance; usually, the threat of having to wait an hour as opposed to my 15 minutes of mining while Duty Finder's on cooldown followed by instaqueue is enough to get people to behave.

I dont leave after 1 or 2 wipes, but depending on the situation, if i see the same mistakes over and over and ask people to do certain thing and no one co-operates, i will leave the group; Not cause i am mad, but I just would rather not spend 2 hours wiping with people who do not want to co-operate

Yup, seems a lot of people chose tank just to feel special

I guess they're not much in real life so they try to compensate here

    3) Wrong, The healer should be checking their own MP, its there job to heal, thus its their job to check themselves, not get the tank to check for them.
    4) Quite right. Its the Tanks responsibility to keep mobs off of everyone, and tanks cant be everywhere at once, that's where DD's and DPS comes in to back up the healer.
    5) Wrong, The tank was meant to grab aggro first, Its our jobs as tanks to let the mob hit us and take full damage whilst we get healed.
    6) Its not that all as "simple" being a tank can be quite challenging. And the responsibility we need to take to ensure aggro and keep things flowing while we mark the targets to keep a flow.

Why wouldn't you check the healer's MP before pulling? It's just common sense and takes two seconds.

Yes, especially when it is very messy and things are going at fast pace like in the dungeon. Healers might not have enough time (or typing skill/speed) to say low MP, and then if the tank pull a large group of enemies, that will spell disaster. I also agree that it IS tank's job to glance at mage's MP BEFORE pulling.
