Glory to Mankind
I've heard the League of Legends reference a lot. It's slightly different, if only because players are punished with bans and suspensions for leaving games early. If you get stuck with a team that is harassing you, you can't leave until 20-50 minutes have passed, or you risk punishment.
In FF, it sucks if you're in a dungeon and face this kind of abuse, but you still have the option to leave. I encourage people to do this until there is a competent system in place to deal with abuse. If you queue up with someone who is being a dick, leave - during the fight if you have to. Make sure to explain why: "Persona A is being a douche. I don't tolerate it." Sucks for the others in the group, but if they're not speaking up for you, they might as well condone the behavior.
"All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
These evil people know this, so they try to encourage you to "do nothing" by saying "deal with it," or "be a man." The more you know.

So then the bullies can be entitled to special treatment to continue such behavior? No. There's a system in place already to report harassment, because it is not acceptable. Don't try and tell others it's ok because you might have dealt with some BS in your life. This is stupid, harden up...
It's people like yourself that play online games and want everything to be rainbows and unicorns, you dumb the game down even more with your tears and make companies implement stupid care-bear restrictions... This is why we aren't allowed to send /tells to people during instanced content
why should i have to? because you're not entitled to special treatment, the world doesn't revolve around you....
Fact of the matter is, if you conducted yourself in the same behavior as OP pointed out IRL, you'd be charged with harassment and/or something more.
The net does not give you the right do it without repercussions
Per the Terms of Service, which can be seen here http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...6&id=5382&la=1
Which everyone here agreed to when you signed up, now if YOU choose to violate that TOS, it's on YOU, not the "crybaby"Prohibited Activities in Final Fantasy XIV
Prohibited Activities
Disruptive behavior that negatively affects the experience of others or the service itself is strictly forbidden within FINAL FANTASY XIV. Such activities violate the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement as well as the SQUARE ENIX Account Terms of Use. Players found to be committing prohibited activities within FINAL FANTASY XIV will be penalized by SQUARE ENIX in its sole discretion. The different types of account penalties that can be issued against a service account are further explained in the “Account Penalties” section.
The list of policies below is meant to give the player an understanding of the types of activities that are prohibited within FINAL FANTASY XIV. This list has been provided to our players as a general guideline for the various prohibited activities and is not intended to be an all-inclusive outline of every prohibited activity within FINAL FANTASY XIV. When in doubt, we urge that our players err on the side of caution before engaging.
Harassment
Our Definition of Harassment
The use of inappropriate and offensive language in general, or against another player is considered harassment in FINAL FANTASY XIV and is strictly prohibited. Using offensive language for character and retainer name, or spreading the inappropriate words in the character’s first and last names is also considered harassment. All claims of harassment are evaluated on a case by case basis and the action taken can be varied based upon the situation at that time. If harassment is found, the account penalty will be issued to all players who involve in the harassment.
•The use of language that is generally considered unacceptable in a public venue
•Any language that is purposely meant to harm or harass a third party
•Any language that promotes the discrimination of any race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation or gender
There may be inappropriate conduct that does not fit into any of the above categories that may be considered harassment and as such would constitute an actionable offense.
In accordance with our privacy and confidentiality policies, the GM will not inform the victim of any disciplinary action that was issued.
Man up and read what you agreed to when you signed up to play

The kind of behavior in the OP is unacceptable.
As to those saying for people to get a thicker skin and using the sticks and stones rhyme, it does help as most of the time people like that are seeking attention, however ignoring a problem does not usually solve it, eventually run into one that needs action taken. Two other sayings that are appropriate here are "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" and "It takes a village to raise a child". I hope the meaning of the first one is rather self explanatory, the second one is not so much every one has to take time to raise the child, but the child learns from everyone around them. So in the context of bullying, yes kids need to learn how to deal with it themselves, but think on how they learn to do it?
While that behavior is not the current normal for the DF system, the longer nothing is done about it, the more widespread and accepted it will become.
It's not that some of us can not handle that kind of language, it's more that we do not want it to become the normal accepted behavior.
lol just finished a dungeon , 1 player RAGED so badly to another that was just DISGUSTING ...he left before the last boss so did the whole dungeon for nothing (lol)
screen ...beware really really bad language and racism.
i feel sorry for the poor bard
if ppl find that acceptable , i dont know what to say ......no1 needs to read that from another player ....
