So what's so bad about a gaming PC for under a grand with no SSD? Add an SSD and tack on another $150 (and this all assumes they reuse case/cd-rom/random cables).

Also, what's wrong with newegg? They've always been amazingly helpful whenever I've had an issue. I just ordered a 2TB HDD and the next day they had a sale; they gave me a $20 gift card for missing it. Seems like a decent company to me.

Yeah, I f'ed up the mobo/cpu combo (it was a VERY quick build) and an SSD would be ideal but not completely necessary for this use case. Though, the PSU is about right; you never want to have your PSU above ~60% load for any long period of time. Your PSU is the most important piece of a PC; it fries and everything attached to it can fry. It will also last a lot longer.

Umm your psu comment is extremely wrong. They are designed to run at their specified wattage. And the efficiency on a psu is normally better the closer it runs to its proper wattage. 80% means it runs at a min of 80% effeciancy at 25,50,100 load levels. Generally they run more efficient at higher load levels though.

EDIT: I want to point out that you should not be running a psu at 100% load all the time, but 60% would have you buying a 1k watt psu for 600 watt power draw which is way overkill. ITs the quality of the PSu that matters the most.
