Bring back the dungeon grind parties

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not having as much fun leveling as I did in beta. FATEs, though they offer a ton of fast exp, get very old and frustrating, especially in crowded zones. The company credits are nice, but it all gets very old... FAST! I like doing FATEs when I'm out-and-about and just happen to run into one my level with a modest group helping out, but not when there are so many people you can't target or hit the mob before it dies.

Dungeons on the other hand taught people skills... which people won't be learning now, thanks to FATE parties. Also, you had a chance for nice gear in dungeons. But finding people for dungeons unless you're a healer (or sometimes tank) is challenging.

I'm not saying SE should nerf FATEs (though it wouldn't bother me if they did). Instead, maybe the exp could be pumped up a bit? Or at least bring them more in line with one another.

Yes. In beta, people would exp grind on the dungeons. They give decent exp... but nothing compared to FATEs.

Does no one really care about this? Putting the aspect of fun aside--which will vary from person to person--I'd think that people would be a little worried about new players not learning their job/class because they quickly got to 50 just running around in a zone casting a couple spells or spamming AoE.

FATE XP needs to be nerfed and Dungeon XP needs to be Buffed so they're on par in terms of potential XP/Hour.

I like FATES as well but not the Murder Balls of 30 or more players running around burning them in 10 seconds. Especially with Magi and their stupid Blizzard spam.

The instances are boring and the queue times suck for dps. Yea i think i'd rather have an open world experience when i level.

I agree...Nerf Fate XP and Buff dungeon XP. Fates already give the most seals/hr, no reason they should also give the most exp per hour. And not to mention grinding fates is no fun. Running dungeons is.

I have to agree with you. Playing on PS3 while FATE grinding is like playing with a group of ghosts. I dont see the characters, mobs pop then die in 2 secs, just spam skills and you get xp..... I wish we can get areas where we can just hang and xp with no time limit and give us a chance to learn the job and be good with it.

why do you think you cant learn how to play a lvl 50 class at lvl 50?

im a legacy player and when i logged on to my lvl 50 WHM, all the spells had been reworked and i learned to play it all over again AT LVL 50...

It's not that people can't learn their job at 50. It's that many people go out and use that new level 50 job--not farming random mobs in the open world--but in instanced dungeons or important fights that affect other players. Level 50 (at this point) is both an important milestone for personal achievement, and also a tool to access "endgame" and all the related activities that require considerable skill. It seems like everyone's in a rush for everything in this game, and I don't see most people stopping to learn their job between popping 50 and heading to their first relic farming fight.
