It's the same goddamn team, with a handful of new hires and some people being shuffled around. I hate when people make it sound like it's this completely different team of people when it's essentially the same people that worked on it from the beginning. Why are you using that as an example? No one so far has even mentioned the implementation of alliances. Besides, why is this a reason NOT to have open world dungeons? If you need help with something, or want to group up, it seems like this kind of scenario would be GOOD for the game, rather than bad.
I did forget that. Though, correct me if I am wrong, I don't think this works in FFXIV. My shell mates and I stood around and watched another shell wipe to an NM. But once they were dead, we couldn't claim it, and they had plenty of time to run back, wait for weakness, and try again all before the NM depoped.
Many people would disagree with this statement, though many would agree that the game still has a long way to go.
Come on. Be an adult. There has been more than just minor UI fixes.
I think that once they get the game's development under control and are no longer fixing it and adding content at the same time, we will see content being added at a much faster pace.
This I actually agree with, though I blame it on Tanaka's team and not Yoshi-P's.

There's a difference between the people 'working' on the team and the people 'directing' the team. They shuffled out ALL of the old leadership. The coders and artists and designers are all subject to the new vision, regardless on whether they worked on Tanaka's team or on Yoshi-P's team. Yoshi's vision for the game has changed and it is going to take time to develop the new vision.
Don't try to turn this around. I even gave you a viable XIV example. First you say "It can't be done because other players can't attack claimed mobs" and then you say "It can't be done because FFXIV doesn't have alliances", completely missing my point. That's narrow-minded thinking. It's like people who say "No I don't want an AH in XIV because I don't want to be limited to seven AH slots" as if people are suggesting it has to be 100% like XI's AH.
Basically: No to instanced dungeons, yes to open dungeons where you have the choice to help random players out by joining their party mid-dungeon.
Come on man. I understand how the claim system works but using FFXI as an example, If I'm in a 6 person party fighting my way through the Sacrarium and I see another 6 person party resting halfway through the dungeon, we can form a 12 person alliance and continue. Say in FFXIV people form light parties to run dungeons, run into another light party and bam, 8 person full party.First of all: take it easy. I don't know what you're thinking I am 'turning around on you' being as I was bringing up discussion on how they could make open world dungeons viable which seems to be what you are arguing for. I'm having trouble understanding your posts because they are all broken up into 1 or 2 lines of discussion per post. Putting all your posts together like I did above, it makes a little more sense.Don't try to turn this around. I even gave you a viable XIV example. First you say "It can't be done because other players can't attack claimed mobs" and then you say "It can't be done because FFXIV doesn't have alliances", completely missing my point. Point: Open world dungeons would allow players to meet and join forces. Right?
I agree with that. And I think it goes along with my original point that the Devs could make open world Dungeons and instance them the way they do with Guildleves. That way parties can be in the same area without fighting for content and they could team up if they needed to, provided they were on the same leg of the dungeon.
I really think these new quest hub enhancements may have some strong ties in the disciples of Hand. I mean look at the big tanning vat in the gridania one, or the pumpkin patch in one of the others. Perhaps DoH are finally getting some challenging quests/SP opportunity in addition to leves.

Hmm. That sounds really interesting.I really think these new quest hub enhancements may have some strong ties in the disciples of Hand. I like that idea, I hope they are.
Belgian makes a post about the state of the game and doesn't seem like trolling... I applaud you for this Belgian. That's what the fanboys were saying. "stop criticizing FFXIV, this is only beta, you idiot! The full game comes on release!!"
Beta tests are supposed to be content rich and used for debugging and balancing. Considering that the game still isn't content rich, and considering the retooling of everything, we're still in Alpha.
That would be cool since DOH could use more content to enrich the experience.I really think these new quest hub enhancements may have some strong ties in the disciples of Hand. I mean look at the big tanning vat in the gridania one, or the pumpkin patch in one of the others. Perhaps DoH are finally getting some challenging quests/SP opportunity in addition to leves.
