Have you worked with the Customer Service Industry? If people _can_ accidently do something, they will, then complain that something doesn't work. It's generally good practice to make something as idiot proof as possible

Blacklisting a gil seller actually does no good. All you do is end up with a blacklist full of non-existent characters. Normally they only use the name for a short period of time then log out and delete the character. Ever try sending a tell back to one of them?
Reporting them is the only way to go. This way the GM's can trace the name back to an account. This can be done even after the character has been deleted.
I would like to see an easier way of reporting them. I hate having to tell people in a group to hold up so I can report a gil seller. It is also a pain to have to write down all of their information just so I can turn around a type it into a report.
In truth there is only one way to stop them and it is not up to the GM's it is up to the players. The answer is to simply not buy anything from outside the game. If there is no demand then there is no profit for these people.
LMAO that's exactly what I thought as well.
Adding someone to the black list isn't permanent, people can see that they made a mistake and undo it. It's not like they would need to call support to undo their mistake.

i normally get 1-2 every 30 min :C sometimes they spam me the same message a couple of times. I really wish there was a right click black list or report instead of having to go out of my way for each encounter
Sadly I have to agree with Medieval on this one... it's not hard to remove somebody from your blacklist either if you actually do make that mistake.

I did exactly what was mentioned here with every gilseller I saw. I never got any response or feedback. Neither directly nor as message. So eventually I stopped reporting them and just blacklisted them.Originally Posted by Jhanaka
If you should see any of these types of shouters, you are free to place a GM Call through the System Menu. As we do not have an option to directly report these spammers to us, we ask you choose the "Harassment" option in the Support Desk menu.
We ask that you include the name of the shouter along with a sample of what they had said. The GM staff will then receive your call and address the spamming; we will be sending you a message instead of offering a live contact to ensure your game play is not interrupted.
Please give feedback to players who report gilsellers. Otherwise we stop reporting.

I will be happy to see SE break out the good ol' Ban Hammer and start banning all people that take part in gil selling/buying.
I am spammed like every 3 minutes for playerauctions.com and ff14arrgold.com and xxxxx.com seriously stop the spamming
No sooner then I zoned out of my inn room this morning after the major maintenance, I got spammed by a gil seller. I was like, REALLY? Please don't let this game be overrun by them. I am sick of having to keep blacklisting them. It seems like an endless task.

Doesn't exactly help the realm population issue either.
