Bumping this.
SE really needs to get the RMT situation under control. I realize they still have a lot of issues to work out but it's starting to get pretty bad already and it's only the first week. Every city on Goblin had 3 or 4 RMT shout spammers, there are gathering bots and someone on Reddit has already reported being hacked.
GM's in game don't seem to be doing anything about it despite several people reporting them. Maybe if the RMT's named themselves Ass Cancer.
In the later years of XI, I think SE did a great job with RMT with the special task force. Need to get that over to ARR as soon as possible.
I wish they could add a button in game to report them as goldsellers directly.
Dang PC hackers...
Greetings,
We apologize for those of you who have experienced real money traders spamming gil selling advertisements. We are in the midst of addressing this and appreciate your patience during this time.
As there have also been requests for an "Add to blacklist" option when selecting someone's name from the chat log, we would like to look into addressing this as well; however, this opens up the possibility of accidentally blacklisting people by misclicking etc., so we'd like to take the time to look into this carefully.
In the mean time, we would appreciate it greatly if you could report these violators through the in-game Support Desk feature where they will be handled as soon as possible, as Senior Game Master Jhanaka has mentioned below:
If you should see any of these types of shouters, you are free to place a GM Call through the System Menu. As we do not have an option to directly report these spammers to us, we ask you choose the "Harassment" option in the Support Desk menu.
We ask that you include the name of the shouter along with a sample of what they had said. The GM staff will then receive your call and address the spamming; we will be sending you a message instead of offering a live contact to ensure your game play is not interrupted.
We are looking into methods to directly report them to us without using the Support Desk system, but we ask for you to bear with us until we get the tools developed. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we will continue to work with you to stop this type of violation as quickly as possible.

just make it so you have to "confirm" the choice with a popup /done
In the time SE lets them do ther thing, SE also tracks and bans supporters. When they got heavy on XI the amount of banned gil buyers sky rocketed.
I'm starting to seriously question the Devs' decisions...
