Fed up of the need of Healers!

The problem with the chat system is that if you are playing on a Console (like quite a lot of us) it's largely useless, in the time it takes to type out 'Ready' on a virtual keyboard the first pull has probably already been and gone. Built in VOIP would have been the sensible option, we know it can work because the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer had it and it was pretty good.

When I decide to play on the console I use my mini-bluetooth keyboard... You are already at a disadvantage playing on the console, might as well take advantage of any accessories you can to make up for it. Personally I only use the console for crafting, anything else is too cumbersome.

That's because there is just an abundance of awful tanks in the game.

You can easily substitute "tanks" with "healers" (or DD/DPS) and it would be equally true. I bring my own healer most of the time because there are some real winners in duty finder. That said, I just accept it as growing pains the few time I do queue. Maybe you should too.

Yeah well I don't have a PC that would run the game and I do have a PS3 so it seems obvious to me.

As as healer (Or I suppose I will be when I can play) on the PS3 I already know for party targeting I'll be using the f keys on my keyboard to target. Otherwise targeting is the main issue with console healing.

But yeah, I like that healers are needed, ya know? It's nice to be needed.

Can't wait till the year comes where I can heal for someone in this game.

Well I do believe the game is much better on PC, I honestly have a hard time believing they wouldn't put in a built in voice chat as every other multiplayer console game has one, yeah?

Reason being is that healers usually get treated like trash and usually get blamed for. Which is very annoying because most of the mmos I played,just the tanks are reckless keep attacking without the bother to attempt to dodge or block attacks or I have to chase after them if theyre out site,if they die.Then healers get blamed for it....They eat my mana =.=

maybe I just get teamed up with idiots.

I don't play on console but I use a wireless controller with my PC to heal just fine. You can set the different filter for party/enemies, etc to define what target you want to cycle through. Disable the upper half part of the filter windows to make it stick. With a little practice, you can do healing on a controller with ease. For FATE, run it in a party so you gain more EXP and you can use the up and down on keypad to select your party member while using the PCs filter for other people. They have no plans for voice chat atm, already brought up.

btw we did ifrit with carby tank lol he did take a beating and had to be recast. go go carby tank =^,^=

So you want ifrit to kill your tank every time, and then the rest of your party cause there is no one around to keep the tank alive.

You can try running with an archanist in place of your healer, but all hes gonna do is heal, while his caster carby does damage. basically, its the same thing.

I can vouch for this. I healed every dungeon I've run across thus far as an arcanist, except for toto-rak. I was prepared to attempt to heal it, but they picked up a conjurer, so I was able to focus on damage dealing.
arcanist is a very capable healer for the story dungeons up to toto-rak.
