Built in VOIP would have been the sensible option, we know it can work because the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer had it and it was pretty good.

When I decide to play on the console I use my mini-bluetooth keyboard... You are already at a disadvantage playing on the console, might as well take advantage of any accessories you can to make up for it. Personally I only use the console for crafting, anything else is too cumbersome.

Yeah well I don't have a PC that would run the game and I do have a PS3 so it seems obvious to me.

Well I do believe the game is much better on PC, I honestly have a hard time believing they wouldn't put in a built in voice chat as every other multiplayer console game has one, yeah?

As as healer (Or I suppose I will be when I can play) on the PS3 I already know for party targeting I'll be using the f keys on my keyboard to target. Otherwise targeting is the main issue with console healing.

But yeah, I like that healers are needed, ya know? It's nice to be needed.

Can't wait till the year comes where I can heal for someone in this game.

I don't play on console but I use a wireless controller with my PC to heal just fine. You can set the different filter for party/enemies, etc to define what target you want to cycle through. Disable the upper half part of the filter windows to make it stick. With a little practice, you can do healing on a controller with ease. For FATE, run it in a party so you gain more EXP and you can use the up and down on keypad to select your party member while using the PCs filter for other people. They have no plans for voice chat atm, already brought up.

Having tried playing both tank and healer classes in over a dozen MMOs, I have a lot of respect for those who make a career of it. I always try to let the tank start the fight (which a lot of times consists of everyone standing around staring at the guy with the shield who isn't moving...), and I

    Whoops, cut off...

...try to hit the same target as the tank. Many times i have to peel off to protect the casters if the tank loses aggro and doesn't seem to notice (or care). But I've also grouped with excellent tanks who know exactly how to manage the mobs. It's not an easy job, so people should cut them slack, especially the new ones learning how. Don't make them regret playing one.

Play a healer, and you will never want for heals....you will want for a good tank, but never heals.

I honestly don't see how people are having such a hard time with grouping in this game. The game makes it EASY for you to find groups. You can be ANY class. I play DPS. It's my playstyle. I don't like healing or tanking, because I like doing DPS. That said, I can stand to heal for one dungeon run if it means I don't have to wait for hours to find a group. So I decided to level my CNJ at the same time as my ARC. 5 levels on ARC, 5 levels on CNJ, just grinding FATEs. It is not a difficult process. It takes a little longer, but I also get more money and more GC points on top of it.

I got WHM and BRD simultaneously, and not once have I had to wait longer than 30 seconds for a group in order to progress the storyline. I only play on weekends, and I've still managed to get both classes to 30+, not to mention getting PGL and THM to 20 for no reason. Also note I only played 3-4 hours per day, and didn't play at all during opening week due to 3102 and 1017. I'd probably be 50 on both WHM and BRD by now if I didn't bother with those.

Seriously. Healing a single dungeon run every few levels isn't that bad, even if you're like me and only enjoy DPS.

On that note, here's a little something. I leveled PGL through the main story up to 20, and queued for the intro dungeons as a DPS. Not including the quests in between, it took me almost 7 hours of play time to get past the three dungeons.

1.5 hours in queue for Sastasha, 30 minutes to complete
2 hours in queue for Copperbell, 40 minutes to complete
1.5 hours in queue for Tam Tara, 40 minutes to complete

The week after, my brother, who had just picked the game up, was due for the three dungeons. He had been waiting in queue for over 2 hours. I make a party and queue with him, and it took less than 2 hours to get all 3!

2 seconds in queue for Sastasha, 30 minutes to complete
1 second in queue for Copperbell, 35 minutes to complete
10 seconds in queue for Tam Tara, 50 minutes to complete
