Forum posting restrictions

I was all set to move on past the login and capacity problems(or at least leave negativity regarding them on my side of the screen), get into playing the game more when possible, and make a few constructive suggestions.

Apparently that's too much to ask as well...

SE you've got a way of alienating new customers that's second to none in the industry - twice now you've taken fan anticipation and excitement and turned it into frustration and ire.

you just dont get it, its a counter mesure to avoid flammers at the forum for the crappy start of the servers. They are just protecting the image of the game at the start, anyone who saw D3 forums at the release should understand the restriction

1000 character limit is laughable. Tried to post some of the feedback and it's pretty much impossible to go indepth on anything with 1000 char limit. @NihilCantabile: like flamers and trolls need 1000 characters.

^^ this. Between the post limitations and the character limitations these forums are pretty useless.

Bumping this thread to relevancy, since it seems not many other threads about this really have caught any steam to really rally up support against this. In other MMO's I easily can find myself being more engrossed in the community and posting in forums than I can in the game sometimes.

Well, I'm finally at the character level that allows me to place posts. So without further ado, I as well would like to show my support for the notion of removing posting restrictions.
How are we to have meaningful conversations if we can barely reply to one another? It is very counterproductive when trying to build a strong community.

New threads about this very issue are popping up, and the post limits are still preventing discussions from occurring, editing you post to reply to a post made later is not a viable option.

keep the restrictions at low level to curb spammers if you must, but remove the limits to the higher levels entirely.

I don't really like the 1000 character limitation @.@

I had to remove some lines of a post I made some minutes ago, which just said that I would appreciate any help and tips for different stuff I asked.
I feel really bad now, since those lines aren't in there and make the post feel like "I just asked stuff and am not appreciating anything if you guys answer..."

Just tried posting a lengthy detailed response explaining my reasoning in General Discussion on ONE topic. Came out to be 1400 characters long, so I just gave up and came here. Forum restrictions need to be relaxed, I'm not sure how people justify defending it. People will just not use the FFXIV forums, I'm sure there's other forums out there that people already started using. Just like how MMO-Champ is the main forum for WoW, there will be one for FFXIV unless the forum restrictions are relaxed. Good luck to any new players trying to ask for help on the official forums.

You can get around the 1k post limit by posting something under the limit and then editing in the rest.

Still don't like the restrictions...
