Forum posting restrictions

It does feel bad for me (and I am level 50) because let's say I post in the meme thread (nothing like a fun thread) then I see a post I feel the need to reply to, ohai there 15 min cooldown, then more pop up and more, when I can post I have to choose between 2, 3 maybe even 4 threads to reply to, however if I go to zam or somewhere similar I can post freely, I can even set up a dev tracker rss feed giving this forum nothing. I have already said I aren't going to post here any more (except this thread for obvious reasons) because I see no point.

Same here! , it just make me all sad these restrictions , sometimes I just want to replay to someone or have some fun in some funny threads but I can't because I get slapped in the face by that annoying restriction.

I agree to a degree.

I think the level restriction is a bit harsh considering there may be people who just started playing that have legitimate questions. While a lot of the normal questions will get covered pretty quickly if a new player cannot ask the questions they may need to I feel it is unfair to them. A limitation on created posts is fine. To have zero is kind of counter productive to what a forum should be used for.

Any Legacy player willing to spend a new thread quota on asking to get the Community Reps a color that stands out much more?

I would actually suggest they reverse the avatar panel background color and post background color, this way the post itself (which has larger area) stands out more. Then put the post background decoration into the avatar background as well, so that the avatar area also stands out.

I was going to create a new thread today, but decided against it as the message I was trying to convey was completely destroyed by the character limit. 1000 characters is ridiculous! Please ease these restrictions! Also, how did the OP get so many characters in the original post?

As a member of the community and as an individual, I feel insulted by the posting restrictions. The level I have on my character in game has zero relevance to the value and validity of my thoughts and words in the community. The restrictions are especially discriminating against slow levelers/casual gamers.
Furthermore, the posting restrictions discourage healthy discussion, and thus community building.

I agree that the creation of new threads should be limited in order to keep the forums accessible (though the limits are currently too harsh), but the current restrictions for posting responses are unacceptable. If there have to be limits for pragmatic reasons, they should be based solely on forum activity and membership. Example: the ability to make new threads is locked until the poster has both been a forum member for more than 3 days and made a minimum 10 posts. (Obviously such rules can not apply to the New Player Help forum.)

Until the restrictions are either lifted, or loosened and based on reasonable community-based criteria, I can not consider myself (and most of my friends, who take their time playing this game) welcomed and valued in this forum and by this team.

Nice to see the restrictions are working so well, I have seen troll posts galore, troll threads dupe threads etc, moderation > destroying the community any day.

I have a question, as I can not start a topic. I got a key for early access, I accessed my level 20 character from the beta, couldn't get on for 2 days because world is full. I just received another key in my email...this one for Collector's Edition...wait...I thought the last key I received was a collector's edition? So I added the code on Mog Station, to see that I transferred my level 20 character to a Standard Key. How come I received a Standard Key and Collector's Edition Key separately, thus preventing me from accessing my Beta character & 2 Legacy Characters? This is not what I paid for. I'd really like some help in resolving this issue. Will they transfer my characters from my standard account over to my second account that's collector's?

These restrictions need to be rethought. More accurately, they either need to be removed or characters should auto-update and raise your cap here as your level increases in game. I still think any restriction after 20-25 is a dumb idea.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that the restrictions make the forums unwelcoming, I'd assume most Official Forums are meant to foster a community instead of alienate new users from veterans.
