If you dont want the product anymore, then give it back, or since its software, sell it used to Gamestop or wherever. Yoshi and the team are doing all they can, if it doesn't meet your standards, go to WoW or wherever else you feel is better and leave.

I love the game and I applaud SE for admitting the errors, but I seriously have trouble believing they did not think it would be a good idea to have an AFK timer (for one, a security feature for players who forget to log out on a computer others have access to) and a working Queue, even if they didn't think they game would do well (despite all the preorder figures) as a fail-safe for server issues, a proper Queue on an online game server seems obvious.
I have been able to play pretty much without much trouble all week, but I am not foolish enough to think that my experience is the only one, or that people getting frustrated is not a legitimate way to feel. They may be working on it, but I am not thankful, I just hope they continue to work on it, as that is their job. I thank them for things they sort out quickly, for the detail in the lore and environment, but not for doing something that needs to be done.
That said I love the game and all the effort they put into it, its a shame that so many people will never get to experience it because they decide the hardware failures aren't worth waiting through.
Oh and try again later when an opening is available is a funny way to put it, my overactive imagination wants to see a little moogle pop up saying "Now Kupo! There is a slot open! click it now! Hurry Kupo!"
Whoosh, I am not the only one here... I love the game and the FF Series since day one. I will give it another week for another chance. Hope they get it fixed by then.

did you know Yoshi has already made over 90 million dollars in sales server fixes are taking some time yoshi needs to spend some of our money first.
30x300,000 = 90 million so its give or take really but about 90 million use a calculater

I think it's good/funny that Square-Enix Miss-calculated how many people would buy and log into XIV servers. Square-Enix GREATLY needs the sales after the original XIV. My only problem now is trying to get into the servers I've created a character in.. It's mostly from people who log in just to go afk or set up spam-bots. It's absolutely infuriating how selfish people can be. I do like how you have a nice way of logging out with the Inns. Just absolutely WISH Square would implement an Auto-log off feature for idling for 30-40 minutes. Maybe also a Community reputation kick. Say theirs a spam bot in town and multiple people (about 20 people) Decide to Blocklist that single person. I think it should automatically kick that person offline and kept offline until Square Enix reviews why that person was kicked. Tons of different ways to stop it. But I'll admit Sq-Ex has a lot on their plate right now. Anyway Nice Meeting you all! On a side note.. Wow theirs a lot of Whiners and complainers and just simply jerks/selfish people on the forums.. I'd love to see some of them manage servers better.. If you don't like the game trade it in. Or Delete it. Problem solved. There's plenty of other good MMO's like Toon Town or IMVU (Secretly making fun)
