I agree, why not just take it down and do it RIGHT, then putting bandaids on a gaping wound. There are little things they can do also, why not add an afk kick. Of course when people log in now, they are not going to log out, why would they?? When it takes 6 hours to log in, if at all.

So, nobody knew how many pre-orders there were, how many copies were purchased from Square Enix, nor how many copies were licensed for sale by other companies like Amazon and Gamestop?
That's really, really odd, ya know?
I would personally make it a point to know how many copies of a game I was licensing and distributing.

They have no problem taking our money, but have a problem providing a game to play. Seems kind of backwards. Once again I will use my free 30 days and walk away from a FF game. What a bunch of losers these guys are.

Do you own stock in their company? What is your vested interest in defending them? They are a huge multimillion dollar company they don't need or want you speaking for them. As it stands they screwed up big time when they initially released the game and then didn't do proper stress testing when they had AMPLE opportunity. I think at this point anything short of cautious optimism is you just being a jackass who's blind to the company's faults.

People have every right to be upset and angry. You being a white knight for SE saying "no guys really don't be upset that things are bad," won't get stuff fixed faster. If people don't bring their grievances forward then SE would just sit on their ass and do nothing. You remember the original game they thought was "good enough," was a steaming pile of remake needed. SE's quality is slipping and they need to be brought to task otherwise the FF series might as well just die.

Firstly...it takes time to set up a working server.and make sure it is stable. They are doing that now.

It is wonderful but...the internet has limits. It is a finite system. It is like the freeway. If there are more people trying to travel than the system can handle, there are traffic jams. No one sues the State Highway departments for being stuck in traffic. You and we are all STUCK IN TRAFFIC. so please just do other things and wait like the rest of us. I cant play the game either because i am waiting for the physical game. I am trying to help new players and help keep us calm and peaceful in the meantime. Lets just take it easy and be nice.

Third, Yoshi San and the staff are doing ALL THAT THEY CAN...they are working furiously for us ALL, not just for the Japanese Servers but for ALL OF US> it is a fact of geography and population distribution that none of us control that ere are more of us in the NA/EU area. They cant change that. So we are the ones who got hit harder by the bottlenecks.

Yoshi has been amazingly candid and open with us. Here is his latest letter fyi...

The time to fix these issues was before the Release. It should have been pushed back if they were unprepared for the loads (which should have been obvious due to preorders). I sat quietly as a 90000 ghost in Beta I even sat quietly through early release. Although that was the only reason I preordered and was the start of trouble. We all have a right to be displeased. I paid for a game I can only play at 12AM and that's when they do maintenance so they kick me off who has been trying to get in all day. I don't accept yoshi-kohai's apology. They knew there would be more of us in the NA/EU area and yet there are more Japanese servers. This 1017 thing also is unfairly targeting certain players. Namely anyone who has to move their PC for work or who have to turn it off at night to save on electricity or for whatever reason. The game is out don't talk down to us like we don't understand server loads. Square are the ones who obviously failed to understand them.

No MMO has ever had a launch this bad. It's a god damn week after launch to fix a problem that existed in the last beta phase. There is no excuse and expecting to be able to play the game I paid for does not make me a spoiled brat.

You make perfect sense to anyone with a rational mind but we are talking about fanboys. There's nothing rational about their train of thought. They serve two and only two purposes. Defend SE's honor like a lapdog and act as caricatures for our amusement.

If they have not finished preparing the game and the servers to host it on, they should not have released the game. When a consumer pays for a product, they expect to use the product how it was intended to be used. I do not think FFXIV was intended to challenge users on how fast they can lick a login button over and over again. With the current climate right now, there should be no excuse why we havnt even gotten an update as to why the servers are just imploding left and right.

this here proves to me that you know nothing about how servers or data centers work. In no way does this games launch effect the entire internet like you propose.... It was a lack of preparing and not have servers ready for a MMO launch. This game lacks successful leadership, the ones in charge should have predicted a turnout then compensated for more. Im not sure if they conducted a beta stress test... they should have if they did not.
