I wonder if the lack of tanks has to do with intimidation. The feeling of "leading" the group and possibly failing. I have had a couple horrible tanks that would attack 1 critter and let the other 2-3 beat on me. I would prefer less tanks if the tanks that were left knew what their role was in the dungeon. It is not to be the top damage dealer and tunnel vision 1 at a time.

For people leveling SMN, they are queuing as SCH because of a decreased queue times versus a DPS. Once the flavor of the month classes are leveled and people begin to focus on other jobs, the queue times for healers will go down.

Healing in this game is by far the most fun Ive had as a healer in an MMO... Especially after 35, when WHM gets Regen, your options really start opening up, and coupled with the dungeon mechanics, there is a huge skill cap for healers in later content
Dont know about Scholar though, will have to try it eventually at some point, but I absolutely love White Mage

I expect that there will be more WHM than SCH for a while, because ACN will have to compete against other DD's in Duty Finder. So that's thirty levels (well the last 14-15 at least) where there will be tough sledding. That means in the end, I think, that there won't be an overpopulation of SCH in the game.

As mentioned, most of the people leveling as Scholar are ultimately planning to play as Summoner.

I'm glad there are plenty of healers and I hope it stays that way. No one wants to wait around forever in the Duty Finder. I am leveling a conj first since my husband is leveling a glad and he wanted me to heal for him...I had my heart set on an archer so when I level my archer I hope there is plenty of every job! =) Bring on the healers and tanks!

If I use the duty finder as any other class it usually takes about 30min to get in. If I play as a healer it is instantly. Every single time without exception.

40% of people making healers? to say your numbers are off would be the biggest understatement of the century. last I checked its between 15 min and 2 hours for a DPS que, healers instant. how would that be possible if there are 2 DPS roles per group but almost half of all people are healers? QQ

If there is an overabundance of healers at lower levels, it will normalize at higher levels. The first four dungeons could be healed by pretty much any class with "cure" or "Physik" cross-classed. As a CNJ, I spend more time nuking than anything else. These dungeons are meant to allow for new tanks and healers to learn the basics. I've gone in with terrible tanks on many occasions and can easily "cure tank" any adds he doesn't pick up. I've been able to do the same on bosses when the tank gets blown up by a bomb and dies.

When the mechanics call for good tanks and healers you will see a rapid decline in those populations. If you have been healing as long as you claim, then you also know that only the tank or the healer get blamed when things go bad. That comes with the job and most people don't like being the "go-to" person for blame.

I agree. I feel like when the game is around for a little bit longer, things will start to look more like an MMO. In the beginning stages, everything is at such an entry level to make it easier for new players to learn the game mechanics. When it comes to the higher level stuff it will take much more skill.
