i did the same thing. and yes it listed all my characters. i am convinced it is a mistake on their side. There's no way I could have screwed up. When I registered my PS3 code and logged into Square Enix, it listed my characters from early access. I don't know why it made a new Service account that I now have no characters on. Submitted a ticket, but they say it could take up to two weeks to sort out, if they even sort it out at all.
It sucks because even though I want my characters back, in two weeks I could just re-level them back to where I had them.
I'm having the same thoughts; I could easily relevel to where I was, if not further. Only problem is now that you can't create new characters with the new service accounts be NA world character creation has been suspended. There's no way I could have screwed up. "There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later."
Are they just passing whoever has this issue off to nobody? I've been waiting since Tuesday for an email or something, and 2 hours in the queue gives me this message. When are we going to be able to play on our OB/EA characters again? I haven't decided to pay for my sub but this isn't a very promising start.
FFXIV: A Realm for JP Onry?

I did the same thing. Found out later, there apparently was some way of scrolling down and clicking a button in that box with your listed characters. I don't know how, because I used the analog stick and dpad to try and scroll down to double check and all I could do was move the curser. Hence why I thought create new account was the right thing to click on. -.-
Also, if you guys hadn't seen this yet...It's more information on server congestion and character creation restrictions. They expect to have servers expanded towards the beginning of the week.
