An option to turn off other player's minions would help.
Can't stand when people have their pet dragging around behind them outside towns.

The game should prioritize npcs and enemies over players in terms of loading. It doesn't, which causes problems. It's unfair to PS3 users. I hope they patch this.
Especially when FATEs are pretty significant in terms of leveling. FATEs being the fastest way to gain exp, there are also only so many quests, hunting logs, etc. Not only FATEs, but I could sit at an NPC to turn a quest in for about 15 seconds before it decides to show up.
I've had this problem as well. I do hope they address it soon. I can still FATE grind but it's pretty annoying to be honest. :P
Bump & Support.
I'm not sure why FFXIV don't have a feature a lot like Aions being able to disable other people characters. It's like this, just disables all characters, leaves the mob and names available. It cuts masses of lag.

Confirmed - PS3 players are completely disadvantaged compared to our PC counterparts when it comes to FATEs.
I can only imagine what it will be like trying to play the Frontline battle system, when even more players and NPC's are going to be loading.
Note that it's not as simple as switching rendering priority from players to monsters. If they did that, healers would have a very hard time targeting those that needed it (but would see all the enemies just fine).
They could make it class-dependent, but would still catch players that don't fit into the rigid boxes (as a THM I can still be the healer in a party). But yeah, making it selectable (a flip switch between monsters and players), and/or an option to disable all character models other than you own, certainly would not hurt.

This is literally my biggest problem with the game other than getting 1017.
@PhillyBop I don't think he is just talking about enemies rendering faster than players, more like the players can fill up his screen so much that he can no longer (with a controller) click on an enemy as it is covered by too many players, on a keyboard you can just start pressing tab and it will automatically find the enemy for you but i guess ps3 guys don't have that.
