ITT: a lot of conceited pr*cks who, instead of offering advice to the OP, instead add insult to injury for the OP not being modern enough and having BLU-Ray coming out of his arse.

Face reality, BLU ray players are not as common as you are claiming. I only have one because of my PS3, if I didn't have a PS3 I would not have one because DVDs are still widely abundant and used almost everywhere, and do a perfectly good job of what they do.

Right. But you do have a PS3, which means you do have a Blu-Ray player. As do many people. I expect the percentage of Final Fantasy fans with a PS3 is also probably higher than the normal person average. Obviously, it's not in every household, but it's a common medium that's been around long enough that I don't think SE was out of line for using it.

Yes, I do have a PS3, but I didn't buy it for the BLU-ray. I know plenty of "Xbox 360" fans, who don't have a PS3 and therefore don't have a BLU-Ray console, and would never dream of buying a BLU-Ray player, because once again DVD's are perfectly adequate.

So again, the point I was making is that it's still fairly common to be without a BLU-Ray player. I'm not saying SE was out of line for using it, I am saying that conceited idiots shouldn't be picking on the OP for not having one.

Totally subjective view. Plenty of people are perfectly happy with HDTV and DVDs, namely because DVD's are so much cheaper, and far more common.

There is a issue here, people with DVD on the pc NEED to upgrade, DVD is only ok this gen, come November with the new ps and Xbox blu Ray is standard for games, you only have a few months
