Upgrading a standard account to a CE account

Because Digital River blows, I won't have my CE boxed copy for one to two weeks from now (while it continues it's magical journey in the Midwest). Now that I'm out 80 bucks and I need a code by tomorrow I'm forced to go out a buy a boxed standard edition of the game tomorrow (since digital sales have been put on hold).

If I do that, can upgrade my standard account to the collector's edition when I finally get that in package in?

You can only upgrade a PC Standard account through Digital upgrade or with PS3 Collectors edition, not with a PC Collectors edition.

you can add another physical copy, but they will be different service accounts (character accounts)
