i will say that after the last 2 patches i have actually considered quitting for the first time since the initial time i started the game. my reason for quitting would be the fact of the nerfing of the nm's which were already the content high ranked players had, but were already easy pre patch. it has nothing to do with the content for the mid range players. like i said though i cannot speak for everyone because i try to make as many friends as i can in game and get told multiple things as to why people quit and it is by no stretch a one solution for all.

i know i was leveling my char for the upcoming stuff tanaka had invisioned. i am really losing the want to play with the things yoshi has invisioned at this point. the difference is i am not one that's going to go play another game and wait for this one to get better. if i ever leave it will be permanantly which is why i have been continuing to play daily until now.
No fights, just good reasons =)

You can still read your mind though. Leaving the game because NMs became too easy (said from a R50 Thaumaturge) is NOT sufficient to have you hate the game. To be honest, I don't want to believe that because you're a R50 Thaumaturge you found the NMs a really easy challenge at pre-patch.
Believe me, I'm a R45 Marauder and still me and my team find it hard to down the Great Buffalo. It has gone pretty balanced: You had a 15 members party versus a mighty Great Buffalo. Now you have 8 members fighting a Still mighty Great Buffalo. If they had kept things as they were, it could not be done.

And anyway, if people want to leave because of only one of their supposedly bad things of the game, at least 8 millions of players would have left WoW now.

I think you should have taken the leveling easy and soft, not hardcore and obsessive. Like this you've ruined the fun of getting low-level content on your favourite class. You can still change to your low class anyway.
If you don't want to take it easy and continue hardcoreing into the game, then do it, but you're losing a bunch of things. Dang! There are so many things you can do out there! Take a guitar, pencil and paper, old Duke Nukem games or the first thing that you'd like to try and try it out! You can't go always like FFXIV FFXIV FFXIV FFXIV in all your lifespan. Do some variations, like FFXIV Portal2 Crysis ...

Take this post as a friend's advice =)

No. I believe they were correctly referring to people who take games, and themselves, far too seriously. In that sense, the term "hardcore player" refers to all of them. If you'd prefer a better term, we could always call you Video Game Drama Queens.

    What do you mean?

And don't be scared, it's their job and they can do it right, just give some trust. (It's not like Infinity Wards is developing FFXIV)
I mean that the new direction of the game is like: omfg that one was sooo easyy!... you know...like that...

dodore was joke before... tank and spank...tank stay in front of the mobs...out of the shitty range... and then spam 2-4 aggro ability in circle....

dps stay behind... 1111111111.... buff buff buff (macro so 1 button) .... 5-8sec waiting on br start....bang...

mages... i dont need to say nothing......

not much brain or skills used for the fight....i think you have to agree....

2ppl could do dodore before nerf... comeone...

there wasnt any damn challenge-battle organization.....

Now??? even a gobbue is almost harder....

Its not hard to make a taxing fight... SE has experience with FFXI and other stuff....

If not, they could always take o look on other games....

Even WOW was harder in the battle section...(and trust me, i hate that crap)..

Dont bring back the "its not end game" thing.....

if SE decide to nerf the only thing in a mmo that should be a little difficult, then im scared...

But again its the most valid comment. There is no content in game that can be considered End Game right now. And any content you try and pass off as endgame will just be void because we know there is a level cap increase coming.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I dislike the term 'endgame' so much. It has no place in a game that by its very genre doesn't ever end. I much prefer the term 'max/top rank.'

Back in XI we called it High Level. I don't think we ever heard the term end game till near the end of Burning Crusade came in WoW.

Ok? Why does end game have to be the only challenging content? Should we be able to bot 1-50 and face roll the entire time? No, I don't think so, that's extremely boring. You had to know what you were doing in FF11 to level to 75, before toau at least. Colibri were pretty easy and skilless, but at least imps existed 67-75, and even colibri were EXTREMELY CHALLENGING compared to the mobs we have in FF14 atm. Leveling should be challenging and hard, and take teamwork if it's not done solo, and even solo should be difficult(look at beast in ff11, that was challenging).

Most people are used to games being a complete joke 1-level cap because they're used to western MMO's, so they'll only complain about lack of "challenging end game content". Me? I'll complain about the lack of challenging content in general, I want the entire game to be challenging, and fun. Everything in this game should be challenging, from crafting, to gathering, to leveling, to missions, to NM's, to BCNM's(if they add them), to leves, to quests, to capped events. Nothing should be as easy as the game currently is, this is a better complaint imo. Everything in FF11 was challenging AND FUN, why can't we have that again?

It's not a "OMG NO CHALLENGING END GAME!" complaint, it's the fact the ENTIRE GAME is on extreme easymode, we need to up the difficult by like 400000000000000, or this game will fail even more than it already has.

There's just no content period. Thing's like Hamlet defense, Companies, and dungeons don't only have to be for rank 50s.

Everything in XI seemed like an accomplishment compared to the current state of this game. I feel the idea of being able to completely solo to 50 by just spamming whatever basic attack is fundamentally flawed. Besides getting people with multiple 50 jobs who don't even know how to play properly, it defeats the purpose of the game even being online.

Guildleves should have been like fields of valor in XI. A fun little thing you could do by yourself to get a small amount xp and money, not something you're pretty much forced to exp on a schedule.

    I agree with you 100%.

But it seems if you actually have to "use a third party website" to figure out where to go for a quest then the "game is designed bad". I always thought the game developers wanted you to actually read the cutscenes and try to figure it out for yourself, not just follow an arrow mindlessly.

Just like I thought the purpose of an MMO was to play cooperatively/competitively with other people.

But yeah, who really cares about endgame right now. Because this game's pattern on levels and cities etc, is so close to XI... I don't think we'll get anything even worth considering calling "endgame" until after the 1st expansion is over.

Honestly, I know XI came out in America after RoTZ had came out but... I think I went my whole career in XI and never heard anyone use the term "content" to talk about new stuff. Up until the very end of them game there was stuff people needed from NMs added before they even started playing. KA, Nidhogg, KB, KV... There was always something to shoot for.
