PS3 controller is tricky.. do you have an Xbox 360 controller? That is much smoother to configure. You rotate your character with the WASD keys. Don't listen to the naysayers come to Besaid! It is the best server by far, thanks to the RPers livening things up!Im actually pretty nice. Take time to get to know ppl before assuming you know them. I'm actually way less "argumentive" ingame.
Ya LL was gonna be my town I did play for a lil to get a feel for the control and ran aroumd LL. I just gotta get my ps3 controler configured somehow.
I gotta play on a laptop and its very confusing XD. A one more question how do you rotate your character in Character customization? I couldn't figure it out.
unfortunately ya. I asked if I could use my bro laptop to play, and was given an ok. Just only have 2ish hours to play, my mom is the only one who knows is password to his pc... and gotta log if someone needs it.
anyway thanks for the help.
Yup, i didn't think that would work. I'll do that then I like my 360 controler better anyway. I just happy i get to play finally. ^^ I was gonna go on besaid, just wasn't sure. Just gotta fix my chat box a bit. I'll prob be on tomarrow afternoon.
Yep, just plug in the 360 controller, installs automatically. Then just go into FFXIV config and set your buttons. This is what I use:
Movement - Left thumbstick
Camera - Right thumbstick
Confirm - A
Cancel - B
Emote list - RB
View status effect - START
Passive/Active - Y
Auto Run - LB
Switch targets/menu controls - D-pad
Lock target - L Stick (click)
Open Map - Back
Macros - L and R triggers
Change view - Right thumbstick (click)
Open menu - X
Make sure it is a proper Wired 360 controller if you are plugging it in. If it is a Wireless Controller plugging the plug and play kit into the PC/Laptop doesn't work.
Not even Moogles can save Gridania now ^^ It's a shame because the first time I went I thought it was amazing but the layout of The Black Shroud just kills it for me. I shudder when I think I have to go there soon to do the new quests ; ;
I hope in it's redesign it goes for a more Sanctuary of Zi'tah layout style.
Oh yeah this is true. Between a PS3 controller and this right here I went out and dropped $20 on a wired xbox 360 controller from Amazon.
The Shroud layout is definitely a killer if you're trying to do leves and it puts you across a massive path of aggroing mobs *coughemeraldmosscough*. I was Basty in FFXI and originally thinking Grid was going to be the lovechild of Sandy and Windy, I wanted to roll there. I don't regret it, but in comparison, La Noscea looks a whole deal nicer to run around in.Not even Moogles can save Gridania now ^^ It's a shame because the first time I went I thought it was amazing but the layout of The Black Shroud just kills it for me. She isn't so much a troll as she is/soon to be was clueless about how things actually are in-game.
There's also an official adapter for Wireless 360 controllers, but last time I tried using one the controller rarely kept connection with Windows. I ended up buying a wired 360 pad and never looked back. Looking to purchase a Razer Onza now since my friend's cat got at the damn wire.
Yup, Mysidia is pretty great. Kilta, don't mind any past aggressions on my part. I tend to browse these forums when I'm working on some major class project (i.e.: When I'm frustrated beyond belief). With the semester almost at an end, you can be sure my posts in general will be less hostile.
Whichever server you choose, enjoy the game!
