    Redo the beginning

    When I say redo the beginning I mean redo the classes selection at the start of the game where you can only choose Warrior or magic classes. Remove the crafting and gather classes at the very start of the game. The beginning battle is a joke when your a crafter or gatherer.

    Why I say this is because its confusing to new players that just started. What should happen is you get starting War/Mag weapon, 1 crafting main hand tool and 1 gathering tool in your invorty space, mainly right at the part where mission NPC gives you the map of the city and world.

    I agree, the main storyline should be for battle classes only, sorry crafters..

    Instead of giving the players their crafting tool, they could make them into quests, like in order to be a miner or a blacksmith you have to go to their respective guilds and get a membership card. I think that would be cool.

    EDIT: Also it gives people a reason to visit the other cities. Especially if they want to have all the crafting classes.

    EDIT 2: I kinda changed my opinion about the main storyline being battle classes only, read my posts below if you wish.

    I like having the choice to do nothing but craft if I want to.

    I choose not to, but I like that the choice is there. It's what sets XIV apart from other MMO's.

    However, I agree that including support for non-combat classes in the main scenario takes pretty much all of the challenge away from the quests themselves. Perhaps a different main story line, or different "instances" for crafting/gathering classes?

    I can see it now. "The Garleans are coming, but oh no we're out of arrows! Quick, we need 5 maple branches!"

    Yeah, I changed my opinion to separate main storyline for crafters in a later post.

    NO. I want to be able to beet all the missions on my level 22 miner and if I can't THEN I QUIT. THIS IS A CASUAL GAME OK. NO FIGHTING.

    Yes. Because of how awfully boring and frustrating crafting and gathering mini-games are, it's a bad idea for new players to be able to select DoH or DoL at the beginning. Either that, or make crafting and gathering fun!

    I think the minigames are fine, but having crafters take part in the main storyline really tones down the difficulty and action of the battles.
