then don't fucking sell the game if you can't provide the service this is fucking stupid.. not you but SE...If only SOMEONE could make an MMO where 3 out of 4 players don't quit after a week
So in a way it's the devs fault. They don't want to invest in servers because they know deep down that they didn't make a game that will cause people to want to stay (not talking about SE here, just MMO devs in general)
No need to believe your the only one that understand whats good idea or how strong something is... but with as many people that guild Tuesdays and Thursdays.... for people will want in whenever for people who just like to relaxe whenever. for a company to say nothing whenever sep for there sever shutdowns is not fucking nonsense! these people are helped by Sony... the company that owns play station!.. they just made mad money and 3 extra servers that you wouldn't play on... but the thoughts that thousands will! i want to enjoy this game, i like to sound like you and enjoy this game for years but to be held back because i don't have a free spot is kinda funny and not needed.
More server wont solve anything. There are Server that are low pop right now you can go to. Not all the servers are full. What happen is that they screwed up and not putting a character limit on their servers. Or if they did its way higher then the server can hold. Also Kick is the way to go, not adding more server. Won't help anything at all. Players who have invested on their server, will not give up to start all over again UNLESS they add a server transfer option.
I'm all for a transfer option I want the fuck off excalibur
I'd rather go back to masamune, get the jp perks package, and be able to play w. My friends.
As am I, I would love to be able to leave my server WITH the character i started. I do not want to have to start over. If they gave me an option to transfer for free to a lower Pop server i would.
There are no servers with low population. Last night JP servers began having 1017s with the official launch. Right now, character creation restriction is in effect for all NA servers....SE has even posted that ALL servers are reaching maximum capacity a day or two ago. In other words, if you did not log in sometime before launch and at least create your character, you have zero chance of playing on a NA data center currently. Do some research rather than draw your own conclusions.More server wont solve anything. There are Server that are low pop right now you can go to. Not all the servers are full. Rather than make new servers, which will have the effect the OP has said. Instead, increase server capacity on existing servers to cope with the loads. That's my desire (and arm chair Dev fix) for what its worth
I get that, but also there are A LOT of people who don't sub, further reducing the numberIt has absolutely nothing to do with people quitting. During the launch rush people log in a lot and stay logged in longer. Then the novelty wears off, and they set into a routine, logging in less and staying online for shorter periods, resulting in less overall traffic. It's a very normal pattern even for successful MMORPGs.
I think a combo of adding an extra 3-5 servers and an auto afk kick would pretty much alleviate the problem, assuming each server can handle around an extra 5k people. Thats 15-25k extra pop space on that assumption, I have a feeling they can handle more than that though.
But to add a large amount of overflow servers has never been the best solution, especially not in this case. It happened with 1.0 when they added a bajillion servers and other games like warhammer had to eventually reduce their server size because of ghost towns. Server migration was never an easy process. What they could do is what they did in FFXI which is open new servers and allow people to migrate to them on their own to help spread out some of the server population to new servers.
Ultimately if the game does shitty like 1.0 did then not only will people have a login problem, the game will get shut down and SE probably won't risk another financial catastrophe on an MMO.
