I really appreciate the posts on how to help this problem. But it is an issue with the game. On the PS3 version there are no display options to adjust anything. The lack of display options are the problem. Just because it works on your TV does not mean it works on My 55 in. HDTV. I do thank you for bumping the thread by giving your input though.

Bumping because I love this game and think that this problem can be fixed easily (when there is time of course, I'm sure the Server Issues are the only thing the Devs. care about at the moment).

I know it's easy to blame something/someone else when technical problems occur.

    Server issues = SE problem

TV cropping issues = User problem.

in the future when you encounter a problem type into good search "Panasonic TV cutting off edges" and voila you get results. Don't make gen discussion boards your first stop and point blaming fingers.
I'm not sure all TVs have an option to adjust overscan. As far as I know, my 60" Sony lcos projection TV does not. A lot of games, however, do have a screen size adjust option to compensate for overscan. FFXIV should as well, especially with UI elements running off the edge of the screen. It would solve the problem for everyone regardless of what TV they are using.

I just want to add that no one is pointing blaming fingers. I am just suggesting a simple fix that would benefit many players. The fix is to add more adjustments to display game side.

I think you are misunderstanding the people trying to help, the settings they are asking you to fiddle with are your TV's not the game's.

This isn't necessarily in reference to the issues the OP is having, but I thought it was worth noting that during Beta there were many posts people made about how bad the game looked on the PS3 and how horrible the UI was it didn't fit on the screen, etc. Several times pictures were posted and it was quickly figured out a lot of the people that were professing how bad the game was on PS3 were using component/composite cables to hook their PS3 up to the tv and not HDMI and that was why it looked so poorly.

Personally, while a PC can push the graphics/frame rate much higher, I am very impressed with how well the PS3 runs this game when setup properly. As far as the OP goes, good luck getting your issues resolved - I hope in the end there is a simple solution. ^_^

Im using an LG 48" with Just Scan and the gfx are piss poor compared to the pc. Ive use every seting on the tv AND the PS3 to help it out a lil but nothing works. The fram speed sucks, loading speed sucks, half the time i dont even see whats hitting me for like 30 sec. And in a FATE... OMG it takes 10 seconds for me to launch the first hit. I have 10mgs speed on my service so i know its not that. I know SE can do better then this... i just now it...

Another note regarding some HDTV's. Some inputs have a post processing feature that will degrade your gaming display quality and in some cases input lag. Please refer to your manual to see what inputs may have post processing, and Google to see if it can be disabled. I have an LG HDTV and found that this occurs on some of my inputs. This is not an SE issue, as it affects ALL you games, regardless of console/PC. Just a tip.

The only thing I've seen bad about ps3 is the animations.. They are poor like a flip book.

I play on PS3 with 60" HDTV 240mHz and it looks great. Check your setting.
