The game was created with the PS3 in mind. If anything, with the optimization they've done on the code it should be even *more* capable on the PS3 now.
When I first tried the game on the PS3 it was cutting things off the bottom. I had to go to my TV settings to fix it. There was a screen auto adjust that fixed it. I thought the game looked great on the PS3 not as good as my computer but considering my graphics card cost more then a PS3 I would not expect it to look better.![]()
I had the same problem on my 55" tv. On the tv picture menu, I changed from "full" to "native" and it's great!!

I played the beta on both PC and ps3. I had no problems whatsoever reading the hud and menus on the PS3 in the previous betas (52inch Samsung-1080p). If anything my 22 inch hd moitor on my pc is making life difficult for me. My only gripe with the PS3 in the betas was how long it took for characters to pop in. Hell I figured the graphics would take a serious hit from the PC version so I'm not gonna beat that dead horse.
I appreciate the input from everyone on this issue I'm having. This gives me a couple of things that I can try when I get home tonight.
Clearly others have a different experience, but the PS3 on my 70" LED is breathtaking. It's as good if not better than all the other titles I have played on it.

FFXIV looks amazing on my TV, especially after adjusting the picture just right. Though the screenshots look bad in comparison lol. Well, unless if they are viewed at a smaller size, then it isn't so bad.

Hiya~~
One must also make sure that 720p is selected in the Display Settings for your PS3. You'll find "Display Settings" in the left-most drop-down list on your PS3 main page (I might have said this wrong; if so, I apologise). There will be some selection akin to "resolution settings" that you will see. Click to adjust it. There, you will be presented with a few options, one of them being HDMI. When clicking HDMI, it will give you the options, AUTOMATIC and CUSTOM. Select custom. There, ensure that 720 is selected (while leaving the other selections checked as well).
To be clear, I am not the progenitor of this information: a community representative made the suggestion to PS3 users after players expressed concerns similar to your own (I, myself, play on PS3/PC equally). I hope this doesn't blow up your console~~~ (I kid, I kid)
^_^ See you around~~
Turn off overscan on your TV. Simple.
I've been playing on PS3 just fine. The only thing that bothers me is that since the resolution is so low, the screen seems cluttered with all the UI elements and I can't make the chat log as large as I would like because it would take up too much of the screen.
