Totally agree with this person. Lets show some respect for the dev team! You guys who disrespect Yoshida and his team are all morons, there is no need for this man to be tearing up, that shows he is disappoined in the treatment he is getting from the unappreciative people who cant see he is working extremely hard, i remember reading a rumor he was ready to step down, although it was just a rumor i wouldnt be surprised if he did considering all the stress you crybabies put on him, just lighten up people everything will be just fine, if we want this game to be here long i suggest we start being more supportive and show more gratitude, its nothing that can make a person give up more than a disrespective and ungrateful community.

THIRD launch of an MMO, no excuses.
If this wasn't a Final Fantasy title, you can bet the community would have left its corpse in the gutter by now if the same issues occurred.
But no, it is Final Fantasy, to your horses white knights! Sing the praises of subpar communication, mismanaged servers and unfair treatment!
Feeling sympathy for him does not excuse his company's incompetence, nor does it make their handling of the situation right.
It's wrong for people to be spiteful because they can't separate their feelings from their criticisms; it's no different when posters attempt to muddy the issues by appealing to emotion.
I really like the game so far (didn't care much for XI). It's well done and solid. However, if I am unable to play it because the servers are too full then there is no sense in praising the company.
Yoshi and his team may have done an outstanding job but with service this poor there's little wonder why players are upset.

As frustrating as all these server bugs were/are I was just glad to see them actively working on fixing it. A few launch bugs isn't enough to keep me from playing this wonderful game that Yoshi has dedicated the last few years of his life to.
Oh how the sands have shifted.
Sorry, but a few crocodile tears will not dissuade me from being angry at the development and customer service teams of SquareEnix for what amounts to gross incompetence in the handling of their game these past few days. Their "solution" to creating a better gaming experience for some, by locking everyone else out, is insulting and unacceptable. They deserve a good chunk of the ire being directed at them.
Instead of offering a public display of emotion, Yoshi-P needs to work on righting this ship before it sinks to the bottom of the MMOcean.

This.THIRD launch of an MMO, no excuses.

These types of problems are expected on your company's first MMO launch. They should be avoidable, seeing as MMOs have been experiencing them at launch for 15 years now and they should really be somewhat predictable at this point, but still expected the first time around.
If you're still making the same mistake on MMO launch #3, you cease to be experiencing growing pains and start to be slightly incompetent.
There are ways around the server spread problem that don't involve crippling the ability to play due to poorly planned capacity.
They should have worked on the data center stuff earlier since it seems the JP side had very few issues. I'm more or so blaming who ever was in charge of the NA/EU data centers than them. They do get some of the blame for not hounding those guys to fix said issues. It took me maybe 40 or so minutes of trying to get on before getting on today because there was no queue for me. When I got on it was a straight log in not even a queue so I assume that part is fucked. They do need to add an auto D/C for the afkers too. Outside of that I've been on for about 12 hours now and yet to run into a single issue. I know the 90000 is still there as a few friends hit that a couple of times but no one has been ass rammed by a long 3102.
Totally agree with the OP. Frankly some of the trash posted throught the teething problems with the servers have made me embarrassed to be part of this community.
Working in release management in the software industry myself, The most frustrating part of it is knowing that the vast majority of the mouthbreathers that decry these issues as somehow being simple problems have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. They are not caused by ineptitude or lack of care, commitment or passion. Companies don't have unlimited resources and it's virtually impossible to anticipate every eventuality
So yes, as usual with MMO launches, there have been far too many examples of the abject supidity, ignorance and lack of perspective that plagues the gaming community these days, but it's good to reassure any SE staff that might read it that there are still plenty of us out there that recognise how hard they must have been working on all this recently, and thank them for it. You guys rock!

I was looking forward to playing this weekend in the early access. I couldn't even log in at all on Sunday. I didn't even get mad. I was just frustrated and annoyed, then I found something else to occupy my time. Never had it occurred to me to vent my frustration on the forums. Even if I had, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad as some of the things I've read.
To the people acting like toddlers (I WANT! GIVE ME!), please go play some other game that caters to your needs and leave the people trying to get this game running alone. It's disgusting reading some of those reactions, I can't imagine what it would be like if it were directed at me or the job I was doing.
This game is having a rough start, there is no denying that. When I was able to log, I had a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone involved in getting this up and running! I'm sure the issues will be smoothed out soon, and a much deserved rest taken. Here's to hoping for a helpful and positive community, once the dust settles.
