Also I was under the impression that PSU's don't spit and stutter at random times,if they're going to break then they simply break without other symptoms before hand.

Not necessarily. Capacitors can go bad over time, develop leaks, etc. It's at least work checking.

How do I go about testing/discovering such problems? As I said the shut offs are just random so it's not like I can replicate it. And advice?

right click my computer > manage > event viewer > windows logs > application

Well, I'd first check your error logs as was suggested before. How to view those varies from OS to OS.

More than likely you'll find a driver conflict or memory error causing the crash.

If not, try swapping out a different PSU or picking up a cheap one. If that doesn't make a difference, most PC stores (not Best Buy type stores, but actual local PC shops) will let you take it back without issue, especially if you let them know you're troubleshooting.

Okay,so I found this, it's the only error on there at around the time it happened:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

No clue what that means,so if someone could translate it for me I'd be very grateful

Using windows 7, heard some things that put me off windows 8.

This problem has got me stumped. It looks like it's not a PSU problem after all,but I can't make heads or tails of this error message,really,really need help.

It would be if this were a problem across all games,but it's only FF,so it's an FF problem hence why I am here.
