This isn't intended to be a complaining thread, and all I would like to know is if there are any plans at SqEx to compensate the people that cannot play because of the issues.
At this point, in a 4 day head start (Saturday to Tuesday), I have been able to play a total of 4 hours (not for lack of trying).
And now, because they are limiting login to the server because of congestion, I cannot even get in to play my characters.
All I want to know is what SqEx is planning for compensation or if they even are thinking of it. Tell me why I should go pick up the game from the store this coming Tuesday?
The only problem with that, is trying to figure out who deserves the compensation. Because to be honest, it would piss me off if that compensated the people who can't play by compensating everyone.
That argument isn't entirely true. If I buy a car, and the car includes a promotion for a Free xbox, the dealership is under no obligation to guarantee that the xbox works. Any and all technical issues with the promotion product need to be handled by the manufacturer of said product. Will a dealership do the right thing to save face? Generally but doesn't always happen.Sorry but that isn't true, case law and consumer laws say that anything advertised as what you call a "bonus" is in fact part of the purchased product. As an example if you buy a car that comes with a "free" xbox one and it doesn't work (the xbox) you can go back and demand a working one since it became part of the purchase when it was advertised with the product. As such since this was advertised and became a deciding factor in pre-purchasing the game, which is in essence an interest free loan which I won't get in to, it became part of the product purchase and is not simply a "bonus" as I submit it was not reasonably delivered/working. Now legally the right is to ask for a refund but I want to know what SE is willing to do to earn back trust and make up for their crappy mistake. I mean seriously did they not have a legitimate stress test?
Plus, consumer law varies state by state, country by country. In the US, for example, our consumer laws are much more lax than say the EU.
You aren't gonna be compensated for time period you aren't playing for. Why should you pick one up? This is the most self-centered statement I've read all day. If you need someone to give you a reason, then you obviously don't want to. So in closing, go fuck yourself. KTHXBYEThis isn't intended to be a complaining thread, and all I would like to know is if there are any plans at SqEx to compensate the people that cannot play because of the issues.

Everyone calling the early access a bonus is full of shit. It is an advertised part of the package you are BUYING. Nothing free about it. If you have ever watched an infomercial you'd realize that the idea of "buy now and you'll get... XYZ" is a tool of marketing. You are paying for that item in the original price. They claim you are getting a value to get you to buy faster. If you were being given early access for free to try out the game without being on the hook for the $30 or $50 ahead of time then EA was a bonus. That's not what is happening. This was part of the advertised content of the package and therefore you purchased the Early Access. If you want to keep deluding yourself, do so. But for the sake of the rest of humanity, please suffer your ignorance in silence.Compensated for what exactly? Did you pay an additional fee for early access? The early access is considered a bonus for ordering the game prior to its launch, it's not a guarantee or anything. Furthermore, I assure you if you read the small print on pre-orders (that have an early access) it states that it may change or even be cancelled at the behest of the company in charge of the game. Once the is game actually launched on Tuesday and you are not able to log in and play, then complaints about compensation will be valid. Even moreso once subs kick in.
This this this this ! Jesus at all of the people who are trying to use semantics to justify the current situation because they have nothing constructive to add to the conversation. Early access was used as a marketing tool to incentivize pre-ordering, on top of the moogle cap and cait sith companion. A good chunk of us were charged immediately for our orders, so you better believe we paid for Early Access as part of the overall package.Everyone calling the early access a bonus is full of shit. I don't remember clicking a box when buying this game. Clicking any boxes, clicking anything comes AFTER purchasing, not before.No. It's not under law do you know why?
You know that thingy, you click "I Accept" to every single time you log into an MMO? Well you basically are clicking Accept to things like this happening because inside that it states
QUOTE:
Scroll down a bit annnnnnnddddd ..................
scroll again then you find.........
In otherwords: You said "Accept". Deal with it.
So SE must be full of shit then.

::shrug:: I don't know, I guess I'm just used to early access and launches of MMOs to be rocky. There have only been a handful that have been smooth, and I've been on this ride since UO/EQ.
Does that mean release was set back to Thursday/Friday or just that you wont get charged until thursday? No, this is incorrect. See the official post: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...cfe40c90154d51
