Controller & Hotbar possible? Cross-Hotbar, No Thanks. :(

@ShadowVulcan: More useful than going back is to hold one (don't remember which one and then press the cross or buttons to jump directly to the hotcross you want)

Thanks for your reply and I will be sure to try that out to see how easy it is once I start making multiple hotbars, but as Alipoprocks said, I do think it would be more convenient to have the option to cycle back as well as forward.

Other than that, I'm quite enjoying the cross hotbar/gamepad support

The moment they implement regular hotbar support for gamepad use, is the moment I will go back to using my gamepad for FFXIV. I used my gamepad in 1.0 the whole time. The Cross Hotbar is just not made for me. I see it's convenience...but I'd rather have the "old 1.0" gamepad hotbar controls back :/

I too prefer the controller configuration from 1.0. I prefer it infinitely over the current set up with the cross bars, I find them inefficient in battle. I liked being able to use my triggers to bring up macros easily and use my d-pad to go through the moves on my hotbar.

Some people probably like the cross-bar, so I think it would be best either have the option to choose between the 1.0 config and the new ARR config, or just give the controller full customization, so we can put any action to any button.

The PC lets you pick which method you want, however on the PS3 there is no option to change it.

Not really... PC lets you pick mouse/keyboard setup or controller setup. I haven't found a way yet to use straight hotbars instead of cross bar, which is what I've been tryin to do for days now. I want to use my controller on my PC with the same functionality of 1.o or ffxi. I just like it better. When 1017 finally goes away im gonna see if there's a way to bind your controller buttons to the straight hotbars instead of keystrokes but I doubt it's possible. They really need to give us the option... I'm with 90% of the people in this thread, my muscle memory just isnt made for the cross bar, and it's very hard for me to remember separate schemes between jobs. My brain goes left > right on hotbars, not left up down right left up down right.

Wow, I'm not the only one who has a hard time using the Cross-bar. Thank you all for the posts and likes! I hope the Dev. Team will understand and re-implement the 1.0 Hotbar or something very similar to it.
