Square-Enix made a slight mistake by not sticking to the 'Safe-Zone' of the Screen, and instead going into the 'Overscan' area to try to get that little bit of extra room...

Other than that, Gearsets (and Hotbars) aren't stored on SE's side, and instead are at a per-system approach. Also, for those who are playing the PC version, the PS3 doesn't include the 'Status' indicator of the currently equipped gear, nor the little dots for the Items. I found my Gil would only display when I brought up the Menu, instead of being always displayed like PC has it.

That being said, since I have an older computer, I find that my PS3 plays the game smoother than my PC does.

Pretty much my same experience. My pc is not that old, but there's just something nice about playing the game in full 1080P on a 40" screen. After playing during phase 4 on my PS3, and then tried it on my pc, there was just no comparison for me.

Not to come off sounding like a jerk, but PS3 FFXIV is no where close to 1080p. With that said, I perfectly understand if the PS3 can play it better than some PC's out there. Many laptops and consumer PC's are not meant to play games.

You realize you can use the PC to play on that 40", right?

Unless that 40" is in another room, which is just silly. Everyone should have a bigscreen in their gaming room.

On a serious note, I've been playing on my PC, alternating between gamepad (regular leveling) and M+KB (healing and tanking). The targeting is pretty bad on a gamepad -- so bad that I don't trust any healer to reliably heal more than 4 people with a gamepad in an AOE heavy fight. This worries me because I plan to play this on the PS4 (for when I'm away from home) when that version comes out.
