Shiyo it seems you're a bit luckier, its not like this on Besaid.

I agree its a flaw in the design but it works for what it is, but I honestly hope they do not stick with it. Being said once you're capped its out the way. But I still prefer XI's method.

The issue with leves is it keeps narrowing because the maximum link bonus is 4, including yourself, so its you and 3 others, getting u to that 1 party size, and usually finding 3 is not hard if you're in a LS which most are so they do it with them. Then it narrows down more because its "do you have X leve? if not gtfo". Its become very robotic.

I think leves are a good design for solo/casual players. My girlfriend logs on for like 2 hours a day and ALWAYS has leves up and usually can't even finish them all. However, leves should not be the main focus for more party oriented playstyles, leves should be used only for solo players. I personally hate leves, I feel they reset too fast and tell me what I SHOULD BE DOING for that day. Oh leves reset? You need to go do leves! Leves didn't reset? You get a free day! Too limiting and blah.

So yeah, leves are badly designed, but at the same time when we have no leves, we basically have nothing to do and our progress in leveling slows down to a snails pace. Leve linking is awesome for duo/trio and stuff, but give us actual content outside of leves for party oriented playstyles please.

I'm sorry if besaid is that bad But leves aren't anti-social, her complaint is wrong, it's humans who are anti-social and cliquey, not the game.

Not to get philosophical and argue about human nature, but you are agreeing with me. If the natural trend is to create secluded groups, or cliques as you're refering them as, then a good design would deal with this and make it irrelevant.

No design will ever be able to do that, sadly. Humans are humans, they like to find their comfort zones and not move out of it.

I remember playing rift beta with my good friend from another game, and his friend. I met some new friend and was like "hey invite my friend" when we were doing warfronts and they're like 'why?" I explain he's my friend and they keep questioning it, saying they don't know him and don't want to invite him. I'm like "...really? Don't you want to make more friends?" "How do we know if he's bad? or retarded?" blah blah blah. Basically afraid to meet new people, seriously? I hate this -_-

In my opinion a lot of these "cliques" would be dissolved if they removed the option of retaking failled leves.

Like a lot of peeps say, most ppl only do leve parties with LS only. Mine does leves as soon as reset hit the clock so if i don't log in at that time i'm screwed for a leve party since random ppl parties are more and more rare.

Meeting new people is not against human nature, humans enjoy meeting new people, the calls for a lfg flag show that people want to exp with stragers.

The reason people leve link with linkshell members is because it needs people to have the same leve, and its easier to manage that sort of thing in a linkshell party.

If there was a lfg system that people would want to use and grinding was a decent way to get sp then parties of strangers would be all over.

Also ffxi shows this when you have your flag up you get a party invite from somone you dont know and you accept it, this means the problem is with the system not humans

To go on with this idea since people seem to agree, I think it'd be good because it puts the focus on which leve you are doing. People would seek out to do just the leves they can link, and since they wouldn't be able to match all of theirs with their LS they'd be more open to link them with strangers.

The antisocial behavior of leves I do not see it much, usually when someone ask to party up on my server they get into a party. If anything the leves where designed to be extremely social even the party recruit feature and teleport system was designed to allow for ease of group for both those with limited and longer playtimes.

The problem is the community is not being social. My linkshell does all leves in house as well, but it is not because of failing the leves to maximize sp or not wanting to play with others. It is out of necessity because people simply refuse to use the search feature to look for a party and just solo everything, so a linkshell centered event schedule where everyone in it gets on and does leves at once guarantees us the ability to party (the only way in my opinion to enjoy the game).

The biggest complaint atm in my linkshell is not lack of content honestly it is lack of partys, but unfortunately I see this as a problem square can't fix it is something the community needs to address, if everyone used the search/recruit feature the game would no longer be anti-social. The only way SE would be able to fix the party problem is to require leve to have 3 people to start or drop all solo sp by 75% and make it like FFXI... both those would cause a mass exodus of casual players though.
