Say yes to Cross-world group finder

    1. It will not destroy communities especially when some servers are highly populated and others aren't.

    2. You already most likely play with a decent LS and noone is going to force you to use the cross server feature. I will likely never use the feature unless I sign on at an odd time and just want to run a quick dungeon.

    3. Enough said.

[Adding this from my second or third post for better sake of arguement to the opposing thread.]
    (1. Is same answer as above)
The problem is they are trying to make this game more accessible and playable by all yet everytime they mention something new that will help this game become more popular everyone cries about it. It won't diminish any part of the game in its current and very lacking state. People are afraid it will be a WoW clone and that is literally impossible because the game is not even 1% like WoW and even with certain features added it would still be nothing like that game or any other.

Why won't it diminish the community? First of all I ask what community? Everyone plays in one LS for the most part of their time online and occasionally will group up with random people to do leves and talk with people in town. That isn't much of a community if you ask me. It won't take away from your LS comradely at all, so tell me how it would negatively effect FFXIV.

    2) gives oportunity for ninja's.
They just have to make a better looting system that makes this not possible or easy.

    3) player conduct.
Elitism is the problem and it is the players faults. It doesn't make people act this way because they are just being themselves. I see it everyday on my server and on these forums and this is not the cause of the problem.

    4) It has been tried.
Tried by me and I am 100% for the system. For the most part the Final Fantasy community in general is different than most players of other MMOs. The people playing FFXIV currently are the die hard fans for the most part and the new players will also be likely more die hard FF fans. So with that in mind and with Yoshida behind working on the system I bet you that it will be an improved upon feature than will be better than the other renditions in other MMOs.

So before you knock it and flame it why don't you give our new director a chance to implement it, looting features, and other things that go along with this a chance?(one which I have a lot of faith in to revive this game to its proper glory)

You're expecting the population to stay this low? You know what, even if it does, I would rather server merges than cross-world grouping. I'm sure with auto grouping and an influx of players at PS3 launch and hopefully later from good word of mouth you wont have a hard time grouping up within your own server.

SE we need the feature to make polls on these forums, it would help you guys as much as it would us.

I'm guna vote yes, but I think you are fighting a losing battle on this one.

If you are unlikely to use it, why do you promote it?

Also, it does destroy communities. It has been implimented in other mmos and has wrecked the in server societies. Also, with cross server grouping you REALLY see the worse from players

I thought one thread was enough (Say No and Say Yes threads), but if I have to post twice to get my point through, so be it.

I hate to reference a different MMORPG in my posts, but there is a recent MMORPG that came out with a similar system that I am very familiar with. I played Forsaken World through Closed Beta into Open Beta (PWE games never surpass OB as they stay in OB for years until they shutdown.)

In FW there is a cross-world party system for dungeons and you'll often find that seriously stupid nubs (NUBS! SERIOUSLY STUPID NUBS!!!!!) will sign up for a dungeon and then after they enter inform everyone that the armor and food and potions and brains are in their Bank (retainer).

We also found nubs that would join in, do their part in the dungeon, and run off with the armor that the rest of the party wanted for one specific player in the party.

Oh my god, can't forget the guy that gets into a party wipe 5 minutes into the dungeon and then starts screaming, "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!" I hate that guy...

Then there were the nubs that would join in during the dungeon and then after it's going on and we start having fun, they start screwing everything up. They flick that switch under their computer desks and turn into the stupidest 9 year old (no offense to intelligent 9 year olds) that you'll ever play a game with. Running into mobs, luring mobs to everyone's death. Dieing and starting back at the beginning of the map or not healing the group because they would rather fight than cure...

There are so many situations where I've seen parties crash and burn to the ground like the Hindenburg zeppelin because of the cross world group finders for dungeons.

While yes, I must acknowledge that a cross-world group finder will help with finding parties for dungeons and make new friends and help to acquire new items in the game, there are also massive downsides that must be considered. In my opinion, the downsides outweigh the positives.

I would rather see a single NPC or NPC area where people can meet up and start a group, then run/teleport to a dungeon together. This would allow players to meet their party members before embarking on a dangerous adventure.

I would rather see people shouting for a party/members or with linkshell members and entering dungeons with friends as opposed to complete strangers.

Maybe you yourself won't identify with the situations I listed above until you see it for yourself, but I assure you it's a fear that you don't want to experience.

I would like to see cross-world grouping. As for the people that don't want it, they can not use it.

People don't already talk to each other enough in this game so with the ability to auto-party with people on other servers, there wont even be so much as a whisper on any server. NO CROSS-WORLD

Stupid response is stupid. That's like the response for AH vs. MW which said why not have both? why not? because one will render the other useless as people will use the most efficient approach and in this case most efficient is harmful to the community but when everyone is using it it becomes routine and you can't "not" use it because it becomes your best option.

Every MMO that I have played with cross server feature is still thriving today. So you are wrong Chime85, Why do I promote? Because I love the system.(moreso I love having more options)

And don't you think thats the fault of the people playing and not the functionality of the game, surely it goes to prove than humans aren't as communal as we all believe if it is so easy for them to ignore one another.
