There's a chance they will give you a coupon off your next purchase through them since that's what people who ordered the Ni No Kuni CE and had their orders cancelled got.I didn't think a company could do even something like that. I'm surprised that the company did this to you. What you should do is call Digital River back Monday and tell the person on the phone that you wish to talk to their manager of the company. Telling them what happened and that you paid for it back on June 25th and were ensured a copy only to be denied. I'm pretty sure they will give you a discount or something. A company that does this is very bad business and if anything tell them you actually have the right to contact the BBB(Better Business Bureau) due to what they have done to you it can result bad things XD
I will be canceling my order on the 30th, but not to purchase a digital copy. I will not support a company who supports a company that does business this way.
you have the order conformation receipt? if so they are obligated to produce the product you ordered. errors in overselling or any other reason doesn't change the laws regarding retail sales. the fact you bought it so long ago also means you have first come status so you get to bump any sales that came after that date to fulfill your order. you definitely need to pursue this with the store management if that doesn't work get in touch with regional.

The problem with Digital River is that they're not in a position to "GAF". They're purely a 1990's company that somehow still has business through publishers that are still living in an age where easy distribution is not only possible, but dirt cheap and without alienating their customers.
Digital River won't budge. They're the online equivalent to the DMV.

It is possible that Square Enix will help you get your copy of the game if you give them the details and are patient about it. Otherwise a new copy will achieve your goal. SE has no control over the distributors, I am sure they want them all to do the right thing but they don't have any possible way to enforce any policy with them without cause I would think but really it is a devl question, we can sympathize and conjecture but none of our comments can give you any more than some comfort I am sorry to say.

At the same time, we can still let SE know they're dealing with a crooked dealer for their online store. It is possible that Square Enix will help you get your copy of the game if you give them the details and are patient about it. I'm really confused here as to what to do.
I pre ordered a physical collectors edition back on June 25.
I called digital river this morning to ask why I havent been charged and my order hasnt been shipped.
I was informed that the product was sold out ( which I knew but figured since I ordered it before it was unavailable to I'd actually get my copy)
He told me I'd have to wait for and email from SE regarding the matter.
Since when are you allowed to pre-order a sold out product??
My real concern is what happens to my Early Access??
I got a code, redeemed it. Applied my 20 digit code. It appears im all set up...but am I really?
Will I need to cancel my preorder and order a digital copy for release??
Please help me
I'm in the same boat. I have an open ticket, but apparently my order has been cancelled by digital river (order placed May 23) and I have no idea why. I just want my collectors edition real life items.![]()
