Sold a sold out product??

I'm really confused here as to what to do.
I pre ordered a physical collectors edition back on June 25.
I called digital river this morning to ask why I havent been charged and my order hasnt been shipped.
I was informed that the product was sold out ( which I knew but figured since I ordered it before it was unavailable to I'd actually get my copy)
He told me I'd have to wait for and email from SE regarding the matter.
Since when are you allowed to pre-order a sold out product??

My real concern is what happens to my Early Access??
I got a code,redeemed it. Applied my 20 digit code. It appears im all set up...but am I really?
Will I need to cancel my preorder and order a digital copy for release??
Please help me

your pre order code is fine youll need to digital copy tho at least to play at release

Your early access code will keep you playing until august 30th. So you still have some time to get it worked out. But I wouldn't cancel your order because that could make it harder to get the game if they indeed do have one for you.

I would wait till the 26-27th. If you haven't heard from them by then I would definitely cancel and buy a digital copy.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea at this time unless you really want the physical copy. Otherwise you'll only be able to play during the early access until you get a physical copy for the cd key/registration key.

Edit : Appears I didn't know there was a small grace period to allow early access to persist a couple days past the official launch date.

If I were you, I'd cancel it unless you think there's a chance they'll magically get some orders in and still manage to ship it out to you by the 30th. You can buy the additional in game items for $20 from the PSN store.

Agreed just wait until then and as he stated if nothing by that time, scrap that and hit up the square enix store for the digital

How is this a legit answer to people getting cheated out of a physical copy of the CE LONG before it sold out?

"oh just cancel you're order and get a digital version"

Fuck that.I would be complaining to SE until I reached corporate, whether they are responsible for shipment or not. I will wait until the 27th to complain though since it's possible ours haven't been shipped since we paid for overnight shipping. This is terrible business though.
