Fixing Legacy Characters Story

The "Legacy" intro/different storyline is for those who actually beat the Storyline after Raven and got their Dalamud Horn. If you didn't, even thou you are a legacy member and/or a 1.0 surviving character with a Branded tattoo, it doesn't matter. Makes sense in a way. My main got the slightly different storyline while my alt, whom did nothing GC wise nor trying to save the world, got the tattoo but no dice with the whole "remembering" part.

It would be nice to hear from SE whether this was intended for all returning v1 characters (the ones with the "legacy mark"), or if it's only for those who completed a certain quest or fight. This certainly wouldn't be the only bug in phase 4 about v1 issues. (Like Goobbue mount now requires Grand Company Chocobo authorization to summon, which is different than v1 and even phase 3.)

Well if the only difference is that you skip the ship sailing in limsa or the carriage ride in gridania, then the new character intro is longer and better and the 1.0 character scene is shorter and just skips a bit.

Im legacy, I completed the entire main story and all the GC quests to the end, and I logged out moments before dalamud crashed.

Upon logging in with my 1.0 character in phase 4 last week I got a cutscene with a giant Hydaelyn crystal from the core of the planet that had a voice over, the character flys into this. Is this the 1.0 character intro?

Need some links to youtube vids of what the differences are between 1.0 old characters and new characters intro scenes.

The legacy intro is basically what is shown at the end of the "A New Beginning" trailer for ARR. The legacy characters are teleported into the new world and are kind of taken aback by it. They show up in their respective city and the person who welcomes them seems to recall who they are, but their memory is fuzzy. The rest of the dialogue throughout the story constantly refers to the legacy character as being "very familiar" or "reminds [the NPC] of a hero they once knew".

Once you meet Minfilia, she states that she personally remembers who you are and thanks you for all you've done for the realm, but everyone else forgot due to the magic that Louisoix had casted; however, since no one else can remember, she treats you as if you're a stranger to the group and apologizes for it.

I hear people speculating that you had to beat something, but I've never seen SE say anything like that. I've also had discussions with legacy players who have not beaten it and say they get the new cut scenes. If there was a link from SE that said only people who have progressed so far in 1.0's story will get the special cut scenes and I missed it, then please link it so I can know.

In regards to it not being much: It may not seem like much right now, but we don't know what the rest of the story is. It could be some really cool stuff. It could be completely minor and be irrelevant. We don't really know.

From what I understand, instead of going to your main city by carriage or boat, you teleport in terminator 2 style ( I dont know if there's more cause I don't get the scene) There's also a few phrases here and there throughout the main story that are slightly different. Since we've only been able to do the main quest up to 20 we don't know if there's going to be more alterations to the story or not.

The only differences are: your starting city contact says "gosh you seem familiar", and during your airship quest each of the GC leaders says "gosh it feels like I know you, but I guess not"

Minfilia on the other hand comes right out and says "yes I remember you, but noone else does blah blah we'll fix it!"

but there's no different cutscenes at all, just slight - and very very slight changes in dialogue

I'd imagine you actually do have the legacy story, you just expected more of a difference than there is.

I never beat Darnus as I quit by the time he came around, yet got the Legacy (1.0) intro.

P.S. Dalamund Horn was hard mode only.

It was reported as a bug in the beta forums, and acknowledged as such by the mods/devs (moved to the "accepted bugs" section) - this surely proves that it has nothing to do with storyline completion, otherwise they would have insisted on further info to check how far along the Dalamud plotline we were before taking it as a bug?

I really want this fixed!

I'm a v1.0 player using my old character and I do *not* have the legacy story - no new intro and none of this dialogue you've listed (played beta 4 up to Ifrit).
