Don't write there. You will use up one of your 3 daily posts. You can write about how you disagree with these restrictions http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-restrictions/ here.
This is absolutely ridiculous. As long as this nazi regime is in place, me, and probably many others, will just use fansite forums to chat and help. Well done, SE, well done. Way to alienate your players.

Good guy SE sabotages official forums to give fansites a point again?
I wouldn't even mind if they implemented the time limit for new players...but 3 posts a day in General forums is kind of ridiculous. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of! I have been on many forums, granted not MMOs, but I have never seen a restriction on the number of post per day and time limit. What if a person is actively trying to help others solve a problem or give guidance because the devs are not available readily? I have to waste one of my 3 post to tell them to post it in one of the forums that don't have a restriction so that I can talk to them. Really? You know then, if you want to put these restriction, create a chat room or something where people can talk, yes casually. Or create a forum called Off topic like most other forums do. I don't think server congestion or storage is the reason for a game developer such as SE. They are a million dollar (probably billion dollar) industry and could easily afford the hardware, software and bandwidth. If they were a site like xda forums that is comprised of freelance developers devoting their time, then I could understand. But you are a getting money from subscriptions and sales so I don't get it. Want a cleaner forum? Hire moderators that their sole job all day is moderate the forums...like most other forums do. Don't make devs cleanup, I know I would hate to do that when I could be developing something useful.
I can see why FFXIV realm and zam will be better sites

I actually didn't know there was a 3 post daily limit. I found out the hard way. Like I said I have never heard of a daily limit on a forum before. I didn't know something like that even existed.
Where can you find the number or threads and posts you have either created or responded to in that 24hr period?

Rather than hire moderators, why doesn't FFXIV nominate and promote some of these Legacy players who have over 3000 post and have contributed greatly to the forum. Give each one a forum to moderate and have maybe 2 moderate the heavily trafficked forums like General. (Sounds familiar??) They can even send PMs to people who are excessively posting (like me at the moment) and tell them that they are excessively posting and to limit how much you post for the rest of the day.
Just my suggestion and feedback.
Oh and I don't know how we can create fake accounts because you need to have a char at least to lvl 14 to post to a fourm, so you need to have a SE account as well and have played the game.

I think it is a good idea even though I reached my max today. The beta forums for me felt like a nightmare of unlimited posting however I hope the new rules will allow the mods more control and us less post to search through. I know we had similar rules in the beta maybe it was just amount of people in the beta was more the issue.. It's frustrating but its good to let the 1.0 players establish the tone the forums will take versus it looking anything like beta forums. The old lodestone forums where a lot fun to read over the past year I enjoyed my lurking there.
