Posted this in another topic, and I think it might help a few people.

When you log into the game via your downloaded PS3 copy, it will start up with a service agreement.

Accept the service agreement.

On the next screen, it will ask you if you would like to use a current account (ie Beta account), or if you'd like to create a new one. Do not create a new one.

Cautions
If you participated in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta, a FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account should be present under your SQUARE ENIX account. This FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account can be transferred to the official release.
* Note that this FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account by itself does not allow for play.

Please be aware that if you register any bonus item codes to your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account, you will not be able to redeem those items unless you transfer that FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account to the official release.

Once you enter the registration code included with your game, you will be able to choose whether you want to transfer your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account to the official release or if you want to create a new FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account. Please take care not to select the option to create a new FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account unless you wish to lose all character information tied to your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account.

Unless of course you did not participate in beta, or you intend to start from scratch.
If you want to keep your characters from P4 Beta, or merge with 1.0, select that service account and hit next.

It will then pop up with another service agreement. Hit accept.

After this, you can attempt to log in again. It may say that you do not have a valid service account. This happened before in beta to NA accounts only. Seems SE has problems with NA customers. Anyways, it seems it had to do with the NA login servers not being linked with beta access servers yet. So you didn't do anything wrong, it's on SE's end. They probably haven't turned on the PSN EA service yet.

This will probably be remedied when they turn the servers on for EA. But, I'd suggest checking back tomorrow to see if it's still giving you the error.

I hope this helps!
